Hey, do you have any tips for overcoming performance anxiety?
http://tumorsandmusic.tumblr.com/post/68837225826/performance-tips-and-tricks-nerves-and-stage
That is my video on the subject. I am lucky that I have very manageable nerves. Usually some breathing and pacing gets me into shape! However, that isn't always the case. You can look into beta blockers if you have very difficult nerves or very intense nerves. I don't know anything about them, but I know a lot of performers use them.
Thanks crimsoncello!
My 11 questions:
1. Do you prefer coffee or tea? I prefer tea, it just tastes better. Nothing beats green tea.
2. Favorite book series and why? I'd have to say the lightning thief series is my favorite. Although, I haven't really been trying to catch up with the newer novels. But from what I've read so far, I love how Rick Riordan incorporates modernism into the Greek (and later, Roman) Mythology.
3. First song you ever remember being obsessed with? It was definitely a song called Tong Hua (Fairytale) by Guang Liang. Search it up, it's really sad (and probably why I loved it so much).
4. If you had to pick a major besides the one you're doing/plan to do, what and why? You know, this is a really difficult question. I plan to do a major in composition, but specifically in film scoring. If I had to pick something else, it would be either music performance on cello or music education.
5. Least favorite school subject? I personally think that the thought of me taking Spanish is completely pointless and useless.
6. Cake or pie? I prefer cake with like frosting everywhere. Oh, and it has to be a vanilla cake or I probably won't eat it. (I'm very picky when it comes to eating food.)
7. What accomplishment are you most proud of? I'm most proud of making All-State Orchestra on cello without a teacher prior to the audition last year. By that time, I had only been playing cello independently without a teacher for about three years. So yeah, I was really hyped about that, and I still am. It's one of the reasons why I feel I still need to practice to get better because I proved to myself that I can achieve my own aspirations if I really work towards them.
8. One regret? Oh man, I'm such an awkward person. I arrived a friend's birthday party at the right time, 24 hours late.
9. If you could be friends with one celebrity for a day, who would it be and why? I don't know about how much of a celebrity one would consider him to be, but I would definitely choose Joe Hisaishi. I want to talk to him on personal basis about music, composition, and his philosophy behind music.
10. If you could go back and change some bad decisions or bad situations you've been in, would you? Why? No, I would not because the past makes me who I am. There's no need to change anything if I'm content with my personality.
11. Favorite Childhood movie? Princess Mononoke is still one of my favorite childhood movies. I mean come on, San is such a badass :3
My 11 Questions!
1. Do you believe in ghosts? Why or why not?
2. If you had to choose to listen to one genre of music for the rest of your life, what would it be? (Please be more specific if you are going to just say "classical" since classical spans like hundreds of years of music.)
3. If you could be reborn into any nationality, what would you want to be reborn as and why?
4. Disney or Studio Ghibli?
5. Would you rather live a life of easy accomplishments but no satisfaction, or a life of hardships with a great deal of satisfaction?
6. If you had the choice of listening to either jazz or classical music, which would you rather listen to and why?
7. What does this quote from The Great Gatsby, "You can't repeat the past," mean to you?
8. Do you believe in long distance relationships?
9. What song/piece of music do you listen to when you're depressed or just feel gloomy?
10. What song/piece of music best represents you when you're happy?
11. Dragon Ball Z or Naruto?
