BREAKING TRIGUN NEWS
Distinguished author Chuck Tingle announced 6 new books releasing today after a special collaboration with Nightow and Studio Orange!
HK Mimic Moths: Xero
Similar to Lurien, Xero is also a Hollownest immigrant. He arrived with his mother when he was just a grub. Unfortunately, the trip across the wastes greatly weakened her, as she gave most of their limited food and medical supplies to her child to make sure he would survive. His mother literally collapsed at the entrance of Dirtmouth and was found by a moth couple. Though they did their best to save her, she passed on mere days after arriving. The couple then took in her young son and raised him as their own, no differently than any member of the moth tribe.
Xero’s parents, based on his mother’s appearance, initially believed that he was some species of ant. When he ended up sprouting wings, however, they began to theorize that he was some type of hybrid, which could explain why his mother was alone and not safe with her colony (I head cannon that though there are some ant colonies who may allow other members outside of the queen to reproduce, they DO NOT allow breeding with outside species). In truth, Xero is a type of wasp known as a red velvet ant or cow killer ant. The females are wingless and can be mistaken for ants and only the females have a stinger, so no cool stinger for Xero.
Though Xero’s parents initially kept more to their tribes old traditions, they were not as strict or as inflexible as many of the members of the traditionalist faction. Initially, their alignment fell between the traditional and neutral factions. Due to this, Xero’s closest friend growing up was Markoth, whose own mother was firmly in the neutral faction of the Moth Tribe. However, as time past, the zealotry and conservatism of the Traditionalists increased, which began making life very difficulty for Xero as he was not a moth, for all he was raised in and practiced their traditions. Unwilling to see their son suffer from this prejudice, Xero’s parents switched over to the reformist faction of the Moth Tribe, abandoning their former religion and culture for that of Hollownest’s.
Though Xero and Markoth continued their friendship, it began to become more and more strained as they reached adulthood. Xero, like many of the Traditionalists and Reformists, grew frustrated with the Neutrals not picking a side, seeing this as a weakness of character. They still consider each other friends, but Xero and Markoth are much more distant from each other now.
Xero currently serves as a knight for the Pale King and he aspire’s to become a member of the Great Knights. This is something he is closer to achieving than he realizes, due to his exemplary service and prodigious skill. However, though he buries it deep within him, Xero resents the prejudice his parents have suffered (though they try to hide it from him) and also feels bitter about being forced to abandon the traditions and culture he was raised in.
Below is a picture of Xero’s species:
Xero x Markoth or PK x Grimm for the meme?

Let’s do CrimsonNail first:
Who’s the messiest one: I don’t think both of them would be super messy, because I like to think that Xero was once a guard in the palace and Markoth was the seer’s son, so Xero had to keep his place clean because he was a soldier and Markoth got raised right by his mom. Though I think it is Xero, because Seer could get really really scary when Markoth didn’t clean his room as a child.
Who feels the most uncomfortable about PDA: I... I actually find like 10 different things this shortcut could refer to, but the first one I find has something to do with births and being painless? Well, both of them are guys, so they don’t have any strong feelings on painless births... OH! It’s public display of affection! I guess, that makes the most sense in a shipping sense. Xero would be all over it while Markoth would be more meh.
Who's the funniest drunk: Markoth is an angry drunk and Xero a sad drunk, so neither of them is particularly funny, though Xero is a bit more funny to watch.
Who texts the most: In a modern AU, Xero would text Markoth whenever he is on a break from work and just get a “Leave me alone, I am busy. You should be busy too.” as reply.
Who has the most embarrassing taste in music: What kind of music do they even listen to in Hallownest? Can anything of it be embarrassing? I actually don’t think that any music taste is embarrassing. You can even like german Schlager and that is valid. If for music taste, I have the feeling Markoth would listen to Grunge and Xero would listen to march music. Who reads the most: Markoth is a more avid reader than Xero. Who’s better with kids: Please don’t let anyone of them take care of kids! Who’s the one that fixes things around the house: Markoth. You don’t even have to ask him, he just does it once he notices that stuff is broken. Who’s got the weirdest hobby: Well, Markoth kinda collects shields... and Xero collects nails. They agree that their hobby is equally weird.
Who cooks and who cleans up: Both of them aren’t the best cooks, but Xero can cook better because Markoth was used to get meals from his mom. Markoth is better at cleaning up though, because he doesn’t want to invoke the wrath of his mom... Now let’s do Pale Nightmare: Who’s the messiest one: Grimm hand’s down! PK is actually very very clean and keeps everything organized to the degree that no one else is allowed to touch his stuff. Grimm just lets everything lying around. Props, food, blankets, whatever he had in his hands doesn’t get back to from where he had it. The troupe members normally clean up after him. Who feels the most uncomfortable about PDA: PK. He is uncomfortable about being seen by others, he would be even more uncomfortable by beeing seen all lovey and mushey with someone. He is only affectionate in private. Who's the funniest drunk: PK. Grimm is very used to drinking and can hold his liquor excellently well, while PK gets drunk quickly and then does stuff he never would do when not drunk. He even can be talked into performing with Grimm when drunk. Needless to say, he wasn’t happy about it once he realized the next day as he woke up with a massive headache. Who has the most embarrassing taste in music: You have listened to their theme songs, correct? None of them. Both of them use music that slaps! Grimm’s music is extremely good and pumping while PK goes more with the somber and melancholy side. Everyone who listens to their music agrees that Grimm’s is better for getting something done while PK’s music is good for relaxing. Who reads the most: PK. I am not too sure if Grimm touches a lot of books. Who’s better with kids: Is that even a question? Grimm. It’s Grimm. Who’s the one that fixes things around the house: PK’s Royal Retainers. Or Grimm’s troupe. They don’t really do that stuff themselves. Who’s got the weirdest hobby: I mean, PK likes to build deadly gauntlets for his children, so him I guess. Who cooks and who cleans up: PK’s Royal Retainers or the Grimm Troupe. Like with the fixing, they don’t really do that stuff themselves.
Elendira would like to say that a certain pharaoh wastes his good looks by dressing like a bum, and would like to see him in fancier getup as well- ones that DON’T offend her eyes.
Legato would like to tell a certain Crimsonnail to shut the fuck up and crawl back into the closet from whence she came.
