Niran: Thank you all for coming to this dinner honoring the soon to be married, Sunday-Grace and Cameron! It means so much to me that so many of you care about my daughter.
ten minutes later…
Jamilah: Hi there, honey! Where are you running off to?
Sunday-Grace: Oh, hey Mom. I’m just going to get another fruit tart.
Jamilah: Absolutely not!
Sunday-Grace: I’m sorry?
Jamilah: No more treats, sweetie. I’m putting you on a diet plan. I let you stay plump as a teen because I was hoping it was just baby fat but you’re still far too large for a young lady. I can’t let you walk down the aisle and stand at the altar in front of our entire church looking like that!
Sunday-Grace: What’s wrong with what I look like?
Jamilah: You seriously think there’s nothing wrong? Do you think on your wedding night Cameron’s going to like what he sees?
Sunday-Grace: Mom… please stop.
Jamilah: Honestly, we should have started this plan the second you turned 18. I’m not sure we have enough time to get you trim by the wedding but we can probably at least get you down a size or two. I wasn’t expecting someone to want to marry you so soon. But don’t fret! Mama’s here to help! You don’t have to look so potbellied on your special day! Yay!
Sunday-Grace: *sobbing*
Jamilah: She always was such a sensitive little thing. *sigh* Better hide the fruit tarts.
meanwhile…
Cameron: Aw yeah, chocolate fountain! Oh, hey Bless! Long time no see!
Blessing-Belle: Don’t you dare call me that!
Cameron: Whoa, Bless what’s—
Blessing-Belle: You’re not allowed to call me Bless anymore!
Cameron: And why not?
Blessing-Belle: Why’d you pick her? It was supposed to be me instead! This should’ve been my party! We would’ve been perfect together!
Cameron: Huh? Your party? Bless, did you have feelings for me? I’m sorry but the feelings weren’t ever mutual. Did I do something to make you think that? If so that wasn’t my intention.
Blessing-Belle: So you played with my heart? Why did you keep looking at me when we did that podcast together? And you and Emery said you two wanted to see the two of us more often! And you call me Bless! Only special people call me that.
Cameron: What?! I was looking at you because I was literally interviewing you. I call you Bless because that’s what your sisters call you, so I presumed that everyone calls you that. It’s one of the most logical ways to shorten your name. It’s not that special. And yes, Emery and I did want to see you guys more. So we could make more content together! That’s literally what we said.
Blessing-Belle: But Emery and Mimi started dating after that.
Cameron: Yes, and? That was coincidental.
Blessing-Belle: Well… how did you even get to know Sunday-Grace? Because that doesn’t add up either!
Cameron: I asked her for her number the day she was chaperoning for you guys. We didn’t tell anyone because we didn’t want your parents in our business and wanted to work out if we were compatible with each other ourselves. I wanted to surprise her with our first date and if I asked her for your dad’s number, she would’ve already seen it coming. That’s why I asked you to give me his number instead.
Blessing-Belle: You literally said you wanted to court me that day!
Cameron: I said I wanted to start a courtship. I never said with you.
Blessing-Belle: But— You— I— I prayed for you!
Cameron: Oh, man. This is embarrassing. I’ll see you around, Bless… ing-Belle.
