Here's another Reverse Unpopular Opinion ask because I feel bad: Malevolent 😌💫

OKAY Malevolent is something I can say a lot of good things abt. I love it, it might be my favorite podcast at the moment, I think it's great

And I KNOW that malevolent isn't inherently queer, but also it is actually. I really fucking love the exploration of humanity and what makes us human, and I appreciate the way Malevolent doesn't focus on the love of it. I really like that John has witnessed love hurting more than anything, Arthur is a guy that is full of love I feel like and he ended up alone and grief stricken and angry for it. I think if John caught on to the love part of humanity, he wouldn't really like what he saw.

But no!! Humanity is ART!!! Humanity is poetry!!!!!! Humanity is moments of kindness from strangers you'll never see!!!!!!

And in general I just fucking love stories abt people seeing the ugliest parts of humanity and choosing to love it anyway... John has witnessed literal horrors that people have brought forth into the world, but he wants to be a person soooo bad. Fuck man.

Malevolent is aro and also it's gay and also it's trans and also it's love and also it's horror and also it's despair and also it's joy

I really fucking love John Doe and Yellow and I think forever about that moment where Yellow asked John why Arthur cares about him. I think about it forever. And I love John fumbling w humanity and fucking everything up and being awful and being afraid and please for the love of god let him be soft I think he deserves it.

Anyway. I have a lot of feelings abt Malevolent. And also it's aro.

13. What is something you wish more people knew/understood about Sherlock Holmes?

That he's a fucking silly guy okay. Okay. [shakes you] I feel like a lot of Sherlock Holmes adaptations lean more into the "detective genius" aspect of his character, but Sherlock is by no means as serious or mean spirited as people depict him to be. He can be arrogant and he doesn't always know how to talk to people, but people like him and seek his help for a reason. He's a caring guy! He cares so deeply for people!!

My personal interpretation of him has always been that he understands what people are feeling extremely well (he's good at reading people), but doesn't always know how to respond in a way that's sensitive to the situation.

The books and the stories have a lot of moments that are lighthearted and I wish people knew about them more!

14. Who do you tend to relate to more - Holmes or Watson? Both?

Hmmmmm. Probably Sherlock. I too am just a silly guy that can be dreadfully lazy, isn't always the most sociable, stays awake at absurd hours doing whatever, forgets to take care of himself sometimes maybe (whoops), and hates cops.

I'm also super in love w my partner though so I get Watson
