I came back to this cookie game last year cause there was a silly jester and people were making really cool art of it again.

Never thought a game about sentient cookies could break me as many times as this stupid game has. I cried over COOKIES.
I've been seeing people rant about this update on Tumblr and I'm gonna do the same, but first I neeeeed to talk about these two.
Sadly, I didn't get a lot of screenshots of the scene cause I just wanted it to play out. But the fact that White Lily's last words to Pure Vanilla were "My precious" kills me. I've personally always seen their relationship as kinda one-sided romantically. Pure Vanilla always loved her while White Lily never quite returned his feelings. However, after this scene, I do feel like she loved him in some way. Whatever way she did feel about him, he was her light. He guided her through so much darkness, and I just wished these two spent their last moments together embracing each other.
And honestly, I know this will be controversial, but if any cookie was going to die, I really feel like they made the right decision by choosing White Lily. Dark Enchantress was eventually going to be defeated someday, and White Lily was going to have to go with her. Her death brought me to tears, and that, in my opinion, marks a really damn good character death.
(Also Gingerbrave's whole moment was fucking glorious but I'll leave that whole yap session to the Gingerbrave fans)

I AM SO ANGRY THAT DEVSIS KEPT THAT STUPID BLUE RAT ALIVE. Yes I know that he revived your entire game, BUT HE HAS TAKEN OVER THE SCRIPT AT THIS POINT.
WHAT THE HELL DO YOU MEAN THE OTHER BEASTS ARE DEAD??? And the amount of screen time and voicelines they did have actually makes me so furious. Devsis biggest flaw by FAR is how often they make Shadow Milk the center of attention.
I loved the ending this update gave us. I thought it was really, really good! All except for what we got with the beast cookies.
The beast cookies would have such a better storyline if they were handled more like the ancients. They all get their fair share of lines and scenes, meanwhile Shadow Milk literally gets 99% of the screentime for some fucking reason. This hurts me even more as a Burning Spice fan. I adore this guy so much and yet he's constantly ignored by Devsis. The only beast cookie besides Shadow Milk that had a good amount of scenes was Silent Salt. The others had their own little sections, a few lines, and that's it. MEANWHILE SHADOW MILK GETS MULTIPLE MONOLOGUES AND SEVERAL ANIMATED SCENES.
I feel like the beast cookies got the worst treatment this update BY FAR. Sugar Swan's entrance was very sudden, yes, but she had SCENES. She had LINES. SOMETHING ACTUALLY HAPPENED WITH HER IN THIS UPDATE. They had that whole extra part that showed us what happened in the realm of silence. Why couldn't we get separate sections of that part with each of the beast cookies? Y'know, to see how each of them are feeling this close to their demise? But no. Burning Spice screams a few times, Mystic Flour says a few lines along with Eternal Sugar, and that's it. The clown gets the spotlight, as always.
The reason this makes me so furious in the first place is that there's such an easy solution to this. GIVE THE BEASTS EQUAL AMOUNTS OF SCREENTIME. TREAT THEM LIKE THE ANCIENTS. Shadow Milk would be so much more tolerable as a character if Devsis had it in them to put him on the sidelines for a bit. But no. Now he's gonna continue to be a huge antagonist in the series, and he's probably gonna get a ton more merchandise and costumes cause WHY THE HELL NOT.
On a final note, I'm not gonna leave this game just cause of this. I love this game too much, and this update had so many other amazing things in it. I just hope the beasts get better treatment in the future. Devsis did say they were bringing them back some time, so they better stick to their word.

what do you mean HE ALREADY TOLD EVERYONE ABOUT THE OVEN?? When did this even happen? Because not ONCE before has he EVER mentioned this, not to mention that the trio in general have apparently already told everyone that they escaped from the witch????
What could have been a really important, dramatic reveal was done off-handedly and offscreen. I WANTED TO SEE THEM HAVE THAT CONVERSATION WHAT THE FUCKKK
Not to mentioned that none of the characters are worried about this? Like everyone's treating it like "oh yeah haha that thing" and GingerBrave isn't even sensitive regarding the topic. Like I'm sorry, isn't the oven the cookie equivalent of HELL?! He should have PTSD! Not to mention that someone should have mentioned this in ep 15 when he got thrown in an oven AGAIN (and he definitely should have been freaking out more when that happened).
These writers suck dude, how do you waste the MAIN CHARACTERS' BACKSTORIES to this degree. Strawberry was the ONLY ONE to be like "That whole thing was actually really scary" and the others should have had that too! But noooooo instead of dwelling on the protagonists' genuinely really interesting backstories, we get shadow milk aurafarming and angst AGAIN. It's pissing me off

I know I should be happy that I finally got both, but I only feel relief that I can stop obsessing over rainbow cubes and I hate myself because why did I care about pulling those skins if I knew that I won't use them ever uggghhhh.
Don't get me wrong, I like Sage of Truth but I hate him but I love him but I hate him but I love him... It's just... ugh... he is just so goody-two-shoes, so soft, so nerdy, so bully-able looking, so vanilla... that makes me go aggressive but I guess in a good way? Okay, so let's look at the definition of the term pick-me. A pick me is a woman who puts other women down in order to get validation from men.
Now, can we name one instance where White Lily exhibits such behavior? Just one canon moment where she puts down another woman to get attention from a man, and provide an explanation of how it is pick-me behavior. That's all you have to do.

Like, gold is not his color AT ALL. The only way he looks good is when people do amazing fanart of him. I like the hair, but that's it. The black and gold is so ugly on him.
I feel like a lot of sm cookie fans need to recognize that smc is not a good person (cookie whatever you want to call it). Like yeah he has a deep sad backstory as the fount of knowledge but he very directly caused the death of probably thousands if were being real
This is including elder faery and the kala namek nights (more indirect but they were still his "friend's" nights so maybe even worse). Shadow milk cookie subjected pure vanilla to phycological torture. He wanted to end the entire gingergang, hes not just misunderstood. 💔
dont get me wrong I like his outfit and his silly so shiny so strong and shadowvanilla is probably my favorite crk ship, him being a bad person doesnt mean you can't like him but it's just kinda crazy to act like hes just a silly guy who is misunderstood by the people around him.
I believe smc is a broken character not an evil character but that doesnt change the fact that he has done evil things.
Anyone else really fucking pissed about the beast’s deaths? I honestly really wanted redemption arcs for them and thought a lot more could be done with their characters. I’m mostly upset that eternal sugar died because she was my favorite character but still overall pissed. Why would they just throw the characters away like this? And of course they kept fucking shadow milk cookie which I guess makes sense but couldn’t the rest stay on and possibly have redemption arcs? Maybe it doesn’t make sense but I just don’t like them throwing away the characters away. Do you think maybe they’ll come back in the future?
