why shadow milk isn't being 100% milked (at least in the story)[SPOILERS]
(ignore how late I am to this lol)
I've been seeing a LOT of people on tiktok (and irl, you know who you are) basically saying how the last few beast-yeast updates have been "milking shadow milk cookie", and as his #1 defender, and by not being blinded by the tragedy of my favs dying, I am here to disprove that.
First of all it makes SENSE that he would be the main beast focused on, not only is his reason for taking over the cookie world the strongest one, but he is literally the other half of the main hero (pure vanilla)
And if you disagree with pv being the main hero, that's just kind of wrong. Although we started the story through gingerbrave's eyes, all plot points (on main story) have been building on HIS (pv's) friends, HIS backstory, and HIS growth.
But aside from that, shadow milk has the strongest reason out of the beasts to keep being evil, since his goal isn't as simple or resolvable as the others. Which if you don't know what it is, it's for the witches to notice his mayhem and finally give him answers even the fount of knowledge didn't know. For obvious reasons his goal is the strongest one, since silent salt got redeemed(?), burning spice is just destroying just because, mystic flour just truly doesn't care for anything, and eternal sugar truly believes what she is doing is the safest answer. And shadow milk's destruction is the only one who's reason is the least emotionally sourced, and more logistical, therefore harder to beat.
It also makes sense he would go batshit crazy like he did, since he saw that the people he saw as ultimate gods with all answers (the witches), could be formed from his own species (cookies) (referring to when dark enchantress turned into a witch). Not just that but also him feeling threatened by pv, trying to understand him (something no one had ever done), and being attacked by someone he thought was on his side (ss). And also the fact that even though there was a whole ass world war going on the witches didn't even bother to come, unlike they had done when they originally incarcerated shadow milk. This all dawned on him that no matter what his questions would never be answered, and that no one truly understood him, that he was alone with not even his gods there for him.
Now with his causes said, I think I've made it clear why him being a focus isn't devsis "milking" him. But if it isn't I still have more to say.
Now it is quite obvious that the next few updates (not including the kpdh collab) are going to be fully focused on him, because of his immense power. And I don't think him absorbing cookies, and their power, isn't that crazy either. It helps to show how much his beliefs have been broken, from kind of working together with dark enchantress and the other beasts to try and get what he wanted, to his everything he thought he knew being crumbled in front of his eyes and doing anything to keep what little faith he still had on achieving his goal. It helps show how he changed and how unstable he is, physically and mentally.
And a little side tangent to people saying dark enchantress is the main villain, do we not know what a plot-twist is? or a classic trope of fake-villain before the big bad gets revealed, lets get our thinking caps on people. I'm not calling anyone dumb for not knowing this, but I'm more so expressing how frustrating it is for people to be mad about a common plot device.
(now onto a bit of theory territory) I personally don't think this ruins the story because in my eyes, its pretty obvious he's gonna fail and crumble(figuratively not literally lol, cookies) when he either realizes the witches aren't ever gonna answer him, or the witches DO talk to him, and break his whole knowledge of everything apart. And stemming from that, I don't think the cookies he absorbed and killed are going to stay dead!!. It would be pretty foolish for devsis to kill SO many characters, but keep their most either loved or hated character alive. Not only that but timekeeper cookie is obviously gonna try and fix this eventually with the help of pv.
And to the people mad this is how act 1 ends, OF COURSE its infuriating ITS SUPPOUSED TO KEEP YOU HOOKED!!!! This whole rant was made because I am honestly SO tired of people hating on my comfort character JUST BECAUSE. Like yeah you're allowed to dislike him, but at least do so with some reasons and research. No DUH he's the main villain he was literally foreshadow since the blueberry academy.
But at last, the conclusion of this is, shadow milk has fair reasons to be the main antagonist, and the way the story is going isn't narratively bad or "slop". So stop being mad about literally everyone temporarily dying, and actually think about how the story isn't done.
