Ate a very juicy fruit today and it was nice
That's the post
crocodile transspecies transition plans (but it's incredibly short because honestly i'm pretty pleased with myself as is):
▪︎piercings, mostly ear, but hopefully fangs as well !! gives me the euphoria of having hard scales while being (mostly) small and easy to deal with
• back tattoo, specifically two back ridges to replicate the ridges of a crocodile
• alternatively - banded arm tattoos, similar to the tail of a nile crocodile
• not entirely sure if it counts, but i plan on wearing a tail a lot more in the future, and not just a small one, as accurately sized as i can get it
• teeth sharpening :}
crocodile mask- final day
yes, yes, I finally finished it…it’s actually been done for like 2 weeks and I’m just now writing about it
Painting! I started by coating the mask in a black base coat, every nook and cranny EXCEPT the original cat mask nose underneath the crocodile snout, which I didn’t cut out of the base due to nose support. After that, I dry brushed a layer of brown, and a layer of green over that’s what’s dry brushing, you may ask? Dry brushing is actually a technique used for making minis for ttrpgs and other tabletop games, but is a technique where you brush most of the paint off a stiff brush and gently glide the rest of the paint on the item- the black base creates natural shadows, and in this case the underlayer of brown also gives us more color variation, like a real crocodile!
Now, after this, I stopped using any sort of reference, and went off with my own stylistic choices, if you’re looking for a realistic color option, I’d make tweaks to this and stop reading here- or do, hehe! (Also. After I painted I added a cardboard support to cover up the cat base’s nose and the cavity of the crocodile snout, didn’t get a picture though- it’s just glued cardboard lol)
At first I had no stylistic plan for this mask color wise, which is part of why this took me so long to finish. I ended up using the 3D parts I’d sculpted on and painting them vibrant colors, with New Orleans inspiration kinda? After that I put my own painting signature on it, that being small black or white notches to give it a more cartoony effect, which I may write on in the future.
Not my most seamless work, but really fun for an exercise! I don’t have enough foam clay to sculpt the teeth, but if you’d like a tutorial on that, just lmk! I’ll pick some up and be done in no time :) thanks for reading!
Day 1
Day 2
Day 3
🌼
Little warm up for today.
(Khress, she/her)
hello!
i would like to request an alterhumanity-based wallpaper with a 2048x1536 pixel size (iPad), if possible, centred around the crocodylus genus and lepisosteidae family (any species)? it would be amazing if you can theme it around scales, natural history museums, and/or murky water, but not necessary if something else inspires you! anything works!
thank you so much for your time, and the opportunity to send this request. have a good day!
here you go, I hope you enjoy! omggg I feel so connected to this even though I don’t even kin these creatures, waow :D
BRO TO ALL MY CAMIN/FISH ALTERHUMAN LOOK AT WHATJUST DROPPED 🔥🔥🔥
On The Matter of Being a “Dog”
I have been considering a potential Domestic Dog theriotype for a while — I am no stranger to cameo shifts, and certainly not canine-esque ones. When I am happy, I will sometimes find a wagging tail. Being upset may result in bared fangs and flattened ears.
Now, I know recurring phantom shifts aren’t always indications of a theriotype; the ones I have confirmed have more to them as well. However, I often find myself gravitating towards gear commonly associated with dogs— collars, harnesses, even a tail.
I briefly entertained the notion of being one, but that quickly passed when I recognised a lot of my species dysphoria is centred around having a mammalian-presenting body, not to mention the lack of association I felt with scientific depictions. I questioned a dog archetype for a little while longer, but aside from protectiveness and submission, I have never felt too connected with the typical caricatures of “dog”. I even looked into being Bluey fictionkin, and though that is still possible, I doubt it is the cause of my feelings.
I noted that my shifts were strongly tied to my emotions. They were usually a means of expression. It did not seem important at first; it’s significance has only just occurred to me.
I am no animal behaviour expert, but I do know misinterpretations of my species are rampant — it is no fault of anyone’s, just a matter of biology and environment. I may not be human, but my body presents as such; this includes my brain. I have also been raised in human society. My mind is not hardwired to recognise the feelings of my theriform species members, and though I retain instincts that align with them, I have not been made to communicate in the same way. I subconsciously perceive my species’ behaviours through a human-like lens.
While my species lack media coverage, a lot of domestic animals, such as dogs, do not. A wide range of books, shows, movies, etc. have dog characters. It certainly didn’t help that younger me had a hyperfixation. I suspect my cameos were learnt from the content I consumed. I have so much love and excitement I need to express, and while I struggle doing so in a human way (it’s likely the autism), the reactions of dogs are clearly visible in this content.
I have learnt to be dog-like in the way I have learnt to be human-like. I am no dog, but my environment has shaped me to mimic one.
