I’ve been battling Crohn’s disease for over six years. It took over a year for my diagnosis due to the complexity of my symptoms. I was severely anemic, had pneumonia we couldn’t get rid of, and had lost nearly 40 lbs. in a 3 month period. The diagnosis was a relief that I wasn’t crazy until I was told it was a chronic condition, meaning there was no cure. I was devastated. I had my whole life planned out and I didn’t understand why I was given this burden. Fast forward to today... I’m in clinical remission, my symptoms are fairly mild, and I’m an open book when it comes to my disease. This disease has taught me so much about myself and about life and what really matters. 💜 And I’m thankful for the meaningful connections I’ve made with so many people that share in these conditions with me! So to all my IBD warriors out there, Happy World IBD Day! We raise awareness for all of us to one day have a cure!💜 . . . . . . #worldibdday #beyondborders #ibd #ibdawareness #ibdawarenessday #crohns #crohnsdisease #crohnswarrior #crohnsfighter #crohnie #spoonie #colitis #crohnsandcolitis #crohnsandcolitisfoundation #ulcerativecolitis #chronicillness #invisibleillness
