Tldr on the lore

Cat's Eye was used as a propaganda piece by Crossflare here to bring forth a more positive light to the miners — especially a now ' civilized ' one from the slums of Kaon. Failing to live up to the task, he eventually sent her to a partial empurata — damaging her servos in the process, and stripping only her faceplate to keep using her [ with a facial prosthetic being used ]

So he eventually kills her and strips his own face in return
