Crow Gaz with an Alt Reader
Okay, this is incredibly self-indulgent but hear me outtttt
Hybrid AU. You work on base, known as the 'company goth' even if that's not you preferred alternative subcategory. Regardless, you're always rocking new rings, necklaces, braclets, and some facial piercings. How do you get away with this in a military setting? Well, civilian contractors don't really have a dress code other than business casual. You work in an office. As long as you keep it professional, your boss doesn't really care how much black makeup you wear.
So, you're tasked to deliver some paperwork to a Sergeant Garrick. That's a new name, but your boss gave you a quick description that you were able to use to find the Crow Harpy. You politely grab his attention with a simple, "Excuse me, Sergeant," and he turns to you will an equally polite greeting of his own.
Until he sees your jewelry.
Silver, gold -- doesn't matter what your preferred metal is. It's shiny, it's all over you, and his hindbrain is going absolutely insane. He's not even listening as you make small talk and hand over the files. When you meet his eyes, you find them dark with interest as he stares at you. Could it be your lip peircings? Or your eyebrow? What about your septum? Whatever it was, you certainly have his attention.
"Sergeant?" You call again, breaking him out of his daze.
"--! Sorry," he awkwardly chuckles. "You're so... shiny."
You laugh with him and take it as a compliment. "Yeah, I like my accessories. You want one?"
You slip a ring off your middle finger and offer it to him. The ring looks like a cluster of vines, but does not lack shine. You've got a few just like it, so sharing one won't hurt. Gaz feels his cheeks start to burn, and who is he to deny this stunning stranger's little gift? He thanks you for the ring and finally takes the files so you can get back to work.
He fans himself with the collar of his shirt, impressed by your boldness to court him so casually and publically. You do know offering up shiny trinkets is how crows propose to be mates, right?
