Cthonic Guide - Wisdom of the Crossroads

This rosary is a love letter to witches. The dark mystery and beauty we inhabit and the balance between life and death, protection and destruction omens of good or ill.

Black tourmaline beads in sections of 9, segmented by vintage Art Deco glass pearls and bone bead accents lead to an English Carrion Crow pendant.

The symbolism pays homage to Hecate, the witch queen, and goddess of cross roads and doorways. 3 aspects with their own individual aspects are represented in the sections of beads:

3x3= the 9 tourmaline beads. Protection on all sides. Opportunity and pathways laid ahead.

3x2= 6 black pearls in the circlet. The pearls represent the patient nature of wisdom. When it’s best to work, and when it’s best to show. The goddess leads Persephone to her mother, sharing her knowledge as she shares it to this day with witches.

3x1= 3 bone beads. Past, present, and future. Death and life are the cycle we all adhere to. Flesh to flesh, bone to bone, we all march to the destination, but the pathway is unique to all of us.

The English carrion crow’s foot connects to the witch’s power. Familiar, omen, harbinger, bridge between worlds. Walks on the ground, flies through the sky and between worlds. Corvids have a natural connection to magic and the liminal spaces. From the old world to now, there is a dark beauty in them, appreciated by some and feared by others, just as the witch is.

Silently watching, the crow circles above. It does not caw, no tell tale croak of the corvid. She lands on a branch and bears witness. No harbinger of doom, but an omen. She comes to witness an auspicious moment that affects the witch to their core.

A murder of crows is an appropriate phrase, because the death of your previous life is at hand. Reborn from your very bones, you are alight with potential. The bones have eyes, and they see the future.

Black tourmaline beaded chain in segments of nine. Accented with triple eyed bone beads and garnets. Hanging from the English Carrion Crow claw is a pendant of bloodstone and garnet.

The Augury - The Soothsayer

Flash of silver, and feathers hewn

Gods of old speak through entrails strewn.

Blood from trees, and drops from earth

Celestial symbols and instinct, worth.

Bones, they conjure, and ancestral oath

Accord is struck neath undergrowth.

Corvid curse and bitter truth,

The purpose is set by witch, forsooth.

This one has been brewing in my head for a bit, but one main component I refused to make this without was Baltic Amber. After a haggle battle with some Russians, I finally got some this past weekend.

Baltic amber and antique three-eyed bone beads on black tourmaline chain. Large rough cut garnet connector with Carrion Crow foot, midnight labradorite and onyx pendant.

Made and charged on the full moon, smoke cleansed in copal and marigold. I’m lucky to know the person who bought this. Familiar with their background, we chatted about Heretic’s Rosary #6 and my plans for this one. So thank you @dylanstarottemple for trusting my vision and the energy put into this piece. I can’t wait to see you use it.

The Shapeshifter’s Circlet - The Trickster Crow

Crows have been a part of history for eons. They cross cultures and time as omens, harbingers, watchers, shapeshifters, tricksters, symbols of life, luck, wisdom, and as witch familiars.

Midnight labradorite beads connect to transformation, especially from dark to light. Things appear one way, hiding alternative aspects. Mystery lies within the depths.

Pyrite beads in sections of 8, the number of infinity on sterling silver chain. Fools gold, the currency of tricksters offers passage for the witch. Iron and fire hide behind an alluring exterior. Infinite fates, endless paths, and unknown pasts ripple through each person.

Antique three-eyed bone bead grounds the individual; though appearances change, and airs put forward, at their core, the witch stands stalwart, it’s felt in the bones.

The physical tether of the crow hangs down with an antique black glass pearl, the eye of the crow, hanging from an English Carrion Crow foot (ethically collected).The bridge between worlds, the omnivorous crow pulls life from death, heavens to earth. It adapts to its surroundings, changing as needed.

Patience is the trade of the crow, waiting for the perfect moment it balances need and want, care and disregard are weighed with the wisdom of the Corvid. It watches as do we, and waits for the moment to take what is deserved or coveted.
