JRWI EPISODE 59, 60, 65 & 90 SPOILERS: So I was talking with someone in a jrwi discord server about Skullslice, Chip & Price. The assassin who attacked Chip in EP 59 and EP 90 was named Crow. They're a drow elf that serves under Price. I got to thinking: What the hell is the possibility that Crow and Chip have a HISTORY? Although it's true that they might just be a hired hand, another servant that came alongside Reuben's rise to power within the Dark Port — they could also very well be a remnant of Skullslice. We don't know how many people were in that gang (but it was a sizeable amount), and hell, we don't know who survived that fire other than Reuben. Maybe the other gang members didn't even LIVE with Reuben and Chip, maybe they were safe and there was no collateral damage to feel bad about.
Maybe Crow was another orphan, or maybe they went home to parents wondering where their child had been. They and Chip could've been acquaintances, rivals, best of friends — does it even fucking matter once they've shanked Earl? When they're back to deliver a message from Chip's brother? Even though maybe Crow KNOWS the kind of man Reuben is, the kind of man he was to Chip. They send his regards anyway :( I keep thinking about them being friends, kind of; kids in shitty jackets chain smoking out of windows, jumping across rooftops to feel the thrill, picking up shattered glass bottles and hiding the remnants. Maybe Crow wasn't always the type of person so willing to hurt others. Or maybe they were. I don't know. A self serving yes-man to some wannabe leader like Reuben doesn't exactly make for the best friend — but does Chip have a picking pool for friends? Probably not really. All he has is his asshole of a brother and a few gang kids who look at him like the dirt on their shoes. and does that make it hurt more when Chip kills them? Did they comfort him the night before he lit the fire, when blood was still under his nails — dripped all the way down the blade to stain his hands — only to become the next victim? I don't know, but I like to think about it. Yay!
i remember, before ep 60 even came out, i was hoping for chip to somehow convince crow to quit their evil job because i thought they were silly. but after ep 60 i think it's twice as fascinating to know just how UNWILLING they are to ever, EVER leave price's side. even when it costs them Everything.
Been trying to draw crow and price related stuff everyday (even if it’s just a doodle). If any of the four people who care about them want to suggest something to draw either of them doing go ahead/silly
