i wanted to offer some further context to that ask you just got about con tabling - a lot of it also has to do with some of us being very, very unaccustomed to being in the limelight like the way you end up being at cons. being on a pedestal is terrifying, and especially if you approach an artist expecting them to act a certain way. we're all human, we're all exhausted, and we're essentially running our own business either just by ourselves or with maybe a few people helping us.
this is very true! most of my job (and my life) is just me sitting and drawing. i work from home and on an average day i will see 2 people (my fiancée and our room mate) and our 2 cats. i’m honestly a shut in and it’s not uncommon for me to go a full week without leaving my apartment building.
in contrast, most of the conventions i go to have anywhere between 25k-100k attendees and by sheer force of numbers i am outmatched and overwhelmed and usually end up losing my voice and my sanity. it is simultaneously gratifying and terrifying to have so many people look at, enjoy, and often recognize my work (or me) in person when typically i am just a some rube sitting at a desk working for hours upon hours.
i’m really grateful for my fans but the expectations can be kind of scary because in all honesty i am a very boring and easily overwhelmed person and not as cool as people probably want haha

hey bud! I saw your PowerPoint about body paint for cosplay, and I wanted to add that I personally used Wolfe for my Cecil arms back when I cosplayed him, and never had an issue with sealing it using Ben Nye spray sealer. I did also powder it first (although I didn't really have to with Wolfe, it dries and stays well enough with just seal) so maybe that helped? If there was a pinking effect, though, I may also not have noticed just because it was purple paint, heh. Just my two cents!
Good to know! Thanks for the info.
I just tested it on some white Wolfe, and it turned pinkish around the edges. I know that others have had issues with it (mostly with white, I believe), so it’s something worth noting. It may be an unrelated issues with cross-contamination of paints, or it could be an issue with Wolfe’s formula, so who knows. I wouldn’t risk it, personally. (I usually use Mehron Barrier Spray, but I forgot how minty Ben Nye Final Seal smells. I haven’t noticed a difference in performance, so maybe I should switch just for the smell!)
Not that I recommend using white Wolfe for large applications anyway, since it tends to flake. Good paint otherwise, but white is a giant pain to get smooth. It’s waxier than most water-based paints, so it’s a creamier formula, but the white only works in small areas.
You generally don’t have to powder water-based paints before spraying. They already dry to a powdery finish, and powder is really only used to absorb excess oil and moisture.
Thanks for your input! :]
so like u know i don't like undertale but i do know that actually toby said he strongly dislikes the term and it was started by a let's player who WAS making a holocaust joke so using no mercy/merciless instead would be cool
yea i looked further into it and realized i had outdated/incorrect information! thanks for letting me know
yeah bro I don't post ship hate in tags so idk what's up with that
It was probably someone seeing your post (response... whatever) showing up in a mobile search for the ship and assuming it was tagged. The wonders of Tumblr mobile.
hey bud! I think someone sent me here on accident cus I got an ask that asked if I shipped rickmorty, to which I replied no cus I don't think that's ok UNLESS I'm a CSA survivor (which I'm not). so I think maybe they misunderstood?? I just wanted to clear that up!
Thank you for the clarification. I do think that the mindset of “only CSA survivors can ship things” isn’t exactly ideal, but as long as you’re keeping to your corner of things, you do you.
