“No, I don’t dance,” Kai shook his head, cutting off whoever approached him before they could even get the question out. It was bad enough he had to attend this frivolity, he didn’t intend to debase himself further by spinning around like an idiot for others to gawk at. “I’m only staying as long as I need to in order to ‘make an appearance’,” he declared, still counting down the seconds until he could go.

Niniane held a deep red wine in her hand, admiring the color as it swirled in her glass before she looked up, taking in her surroundings, so unlike anything she had seen growing up. After all, there were not many people on the Isle of Avalon; it was something of a private retreat and the nunnery on the other side of the veil was hardly a place of fetes. She enjoyed the swirl of colors as people moved together in dance, but even more so, she enjoyed watching the people’s interactions. One woman who caught Niniane’s eyes was a blonde with icy blue eyes. Where many women in the room blushed and cowed, this woman talked with men with no airs. She met them eye to eye and laughed with her whole self. Niniane found herself approaching the woman though she wasn’t sure about her reasoning. Before she made her final approach she quickly grabbed a drink from a passerby. “You looked like you could use another drink.”

Welcome to Camelot!

The gates of the castle have been opened wide to allow all those who have arrived in the city recently to enter the grand ballroom. Decorated to the nines with garlands of flowers in every color, a plush red carpet guides guests inside, where lively music is played by the court musicians and tables laden with delicious food and drinks wait for the King’s Guests. The doors have also been flung wide to the courtyard and gardens, that guests may get a breath of fresh air between dances. 

Beyond the ballroom, the Throne Room is flanked by guards, for King Arthur has found the strength to sit upon his throne and is accepting audiences with small groups. 

For the event, each character will be able to have a short thread with High King Arthur --as played by the admin-- so he can welcome them to the Kingdom. If you would like to plot a relationship with your character and the King rather than have this be their first meeting, please contact the main! You will be tagged in a starter for your thread with the king, but if you would rather not attend the audience, you do not need to reply.

We encourage all the guests to mingle and get to know one another on this auspicious event! The event has now begun, and you may begin posting and replying to starters! Please be sure to tag your threads with crownless.event and crownless.starter. You may feel free to continue your non-event threads during the event, but we hope everyone will choose to attend the ball!
