Higuruma is the type of boyfriend to worry about you at all times of the day. He could have a workload of cases piled up on his desk, and he’ll still call you at least once a day to check in on you.
Hell, he could be on the verge of death, and you’ll still get a call from him to see how you are doing.
Which means that quite often Higuruma forgets to take care of himself. Not in the physical sense— he actually makes sure he always looks presentable, especially on court days— but rather, he forgets to take breaks.
Higuruma rarely takes days off. He’s a workaholic by choice. You have to beg him to take breaks when you see that a case takes a toll on him.
But he does cave in at some point— after all, it’s you who’s asking him. You see that even if he doesn’t thank you for pulling his ass out of work, his body does; his shoulders slump, and that frown between his eyebrows disappears.
Out of work, however, Higuruma is a very loving and caring boyfriend. He pays attention to all the small details, like what type of jewelry you decided to wear, your shoes, the way you did your hair that day, just about everything.
He doesn’t always mention those details he notices on you, but you often catch him staring— his eyes lingering on your neck, on your lips, his gaze tracing your body— all to take a better look at that necklace he gifted you, your bold lipstick color choice, or that short skirt you wore despite being on the fence about it.
That’s a big thing for him, too. Higuruma never says anything if it’s deemed “useless”. He needs to make a point every time he speaks, making sure it serves a purpose, refraining from saying everything on his mind.
And just as being a lawyer affects his way of talking, when you end up in arguments with him, Higuruma often looks at the logical aspects, making him prone to disregarding your feelings as well as his.
Most of the time, he eventually catches himself using his “lawyer voice” mid-argument and quickly apologizes, his voice becoming far more awkward and quieter.
Higuruma loves small physical gestures. When he takes his work home, he loves it when you sit by him and just entwine your fingers with his hair.
He doesn’t dare to admit it, but it drives him crazy, and most of the time, soon after you start, he decides to call it quits.
Because he focused on his career goals during college, he never really had time for a relationship. So whenever you innocently touch him, a shiver runs through him, making him feel undone by you.
And when trouble arises? Higuruma, like the gentleman he is, always steps in and tries his best to protect you— and not by physical means.
If anyone tries to hit on you or makes you feel uncomfortable, he stands between you and whoever commented, making sure trouble never reaches you with as little drama as possible.
His lawyer skills come in handy, as it usually takes a sentence or two to scare off anyone who thinks they can disrespect you in front of him.
By no means does this mean he’s crazy protective; Higuruma simply wants what's best for you.
At the end of the day, Higuruma loves you in ways that most people often miss; silent gestures— ones that speak more than words.

Reiner loves physical touch. Even though he doesn’t really initiate it, because he’s scared to hurt you, he loves it when you approach him to touch him.
By no means does that mean Reiner touches you only to get off. He is a man with simple pleasures. He loves it when you play with his hair or when you take his hand with both of your hands. Hell, he gets shivers down his spine when you accidentally caress any part of his body.
Reiner is much bigger than you, so he makes sure that when he hugs you back or kisses you, he doesn’t overdo it. Which makes his physical display of attention seem so sweet and careful to you.
Late at night, Reiner makes sure to lie down in any position you prefer. If you feel like taking most of the bed that night, he accommodates by taking up a small portion of it. He truly doesn’t mind it— he’s slept in worse conditions before, anyway.
And when you say you’re cold? He immediately wraps his whole body around yours and asks if it’s comfortable for you.
Reiner might not have the dating experience as most guys his age, but he does try to show his love by any means. Especially by showing you he remembers every last minuscule detail about you.
Like when you mentioned, a few years ago, that you loved seeing him with his facial hair, he made sure to style it the way you liked it after you guys began dating.
Reiner makes sure to leave a few notes here and there when he has to go out. Most of the time, they’re just little doodles he’s drawn, but other times they contain heartfelt messages for you.
Reiner wanted to leave his problems as far away from you as possible, so he rarely talked about them with you. But when he had a panic attack in public, and you helped him out, he started confiding in you a bit more; that was the day he decided to be as open to you as he could.
Reiner is the type of man to show you off to his friends. He thinks everything you do is perfection— even if it’s something common that you do on a regular day-to-day basis. He once cried because of how delicious your pastries were, and even begged you to bake more to take to his friends.
Reiner is not the possessive or jealous type, but when something happens that makes you uncomfortable, he jumps in, ready to protect you. And of course, if he sees a guy weirdly talking to you or getting too touchy with you, he makes sure to voice his concern right there and then with a squeeze to your hand or a soft kiss to your temple.
Once, he saw you laughing and enjoying your time with someone else, and it made his chest twist with pain. It wasn’t that he was angry with you— he just felt like he wasn’t enough for you. When you noticed the fact that he had been a little bit too quiet, you simply cupped his face and kissed him gently, reminding him that he was right there with you.
Reiner spoils you to the nth degree. Everything you want, he is willing to buy you— you’re usually the one who has to stop him, though. You know if you don’t stop him, he can make himself not buy groceries for a whole week.
Reiner isn’t too flashy, nor is he overbearing, to the point where you can’t breathe — he actually gives you space when you need it. The way he loves is quiet. Peaceful.
Late at night, he often reminds himself that he has you wrapped in his arms.
