The air fell still for a moment, before being weighed down by a dense feeling of foreboding seemingly out of nowhere. She isn’t so sure if it’s because of her company nearby, or if it’s from another source. The feeling is not necessarily malevolent, rather it is a warning against those who clearly don’t belong. Suddenly, the scent of damp decay wafts in, it’s the smell of dead leaves on the forest floor as autumn rolls in. It would have made more sense if they stood in the middle of the forest, but they were standing at a Denny’s parking lot.
