Cryptid!Misto and Cryptid!Jemima Thoughts
The Jellicles were used to the littlest of them chatting with shadows and the occaisonal glowy/floaty time. They were fine with it, more or less.
Then slithers/floats/crawls/apparates in Misto. Munk's first instinct is to hide all the kits. After all, there was a whole lot there he hadn't even begun to unpack yet.
Jemima sneaks out because she is beyond silly containment methods for flesh prisons (or at least that's the story she sells to Cettie and Electra) When she pushes past the curtain that divides man and magic, bright yellow eyes wait for her.
"Hello, mister. May I please get by you?" Jemima asks politely, because Munkustrap and Skimble raised her to have manners even if she is speaking with netherbeasts.
Misto's hearts, or whatever squirms in his chest, grows three sizes that day
Jemima is glad she has a new friend who is durable enough to play with PLUS the other cats agree he's real without any of the usual weird faces.
Munkustrap comes home to them chanting together in matching antlers and bone necklaces. He passes out before Jemima can tell him about Dress-up Time with Misto
If the two of them spend too long together, side effects may include:
- Sudden raining of toads/rats/small birds
-The stars fleeing from the night sky
-The ground becoming infertile dust for 100 years
-Volatile Weather Patterns
-The Return of the Bubonic Plague
Misto takes over as head of The Tea Party committee. The other cats dont know if possessed toys were the better or worst enforcers. Misto wants Jemima to be a cultured monstrosity so he tries to get his best behaved underworld fiends to attend sometimes. (Munkustrap walked into one of THOSE tea parties and had to consult his doctor on how much stress=stroke)
It's also Misto's suggestion to make paper flowers after Tugger tells him about Jemima crying at the edge of flower fields. "It's kind of like voodoo dolls," He tells Jemima, "It's not the real verson but with enough magic you can make it work."
Sometimes they vanish off together (probably to another dimension) and the other cats ask Coricopat and Tantomile where they've gone and the twins just nope and moonwalk away from that nightmare.
Tugger thinks Misto is EVEN MORE of a blessing because now someone can help when Jemima decides to go all "I AM THE DARK THAT DARKNESS HIDES IN" when he tries getting her ready for bedtime.
Tugger and Munk going to Misto with concerns about Jemima.
"Hey, is that whole vomitting snakes thing normal and healthy? Should I give her juice?" "Hey Misto, what does it mean when Jemima's head spins and she screams in latin?" "Misto, if you were a young girl who is very cross with her father, which dimension would you hide my bed in?"
