I had a thought of Demeter sitting with Munk after Macavity is dealt with and getting nervous during Misto's song at the Ball, she likes magic but after the whole thing with Macavity she's still a bit on a high alert, still a bit nervous and jumpy

Only for her to feel Munk hold her a little tighter and nuzzle head and whisper that he's got her and that it's fine, it's just Misto, not Mac. And maybe he grabs her hands too and starts massaging them and only then she realises she started to shake a bit and she can't see his face but his warmth behind her and him quietly humming along to the song is calming her down

Maybe she tries not to lean on him too much, he's injured and his arms around her and his chest at her back are more than enough for now, but as minutes tick by she feels him lean on her more and more, maybe she moves just enough, straightens just enough that he can lean his chin on her shoulder or his head on hers

And when the ball is over and they settle in for the night she pushes him to lay down first, to get comfortable, maybe checks if his bandages are all fine, before carefully joining him

She tries really hard to keep a tiny bit of distance between them, to not accidentally lean on any of his injuries nor to press on anything too hard, but he just grabs her waist and pulls her closer so he can feel her next to him and so he can bury his face in her hair

And then he falls asleep like that, his arm still draped over her and her nuzzling into his neck before the sleep takes her too

Maybe Deme was expecting to not sleep at all that night cuz of what happened but she's surprised to find herself suddenly exhausted and relatively calm there with him and starting to drift off

And if there's any sound that makes her twitch and pull her out of her almost sleep, it's made better by Munk's arm tightening around her briefly and him mumbling smth in his sleep

It's not much but it reminds her he's there and that some protector part of him is still keeping watch, keeping her safe even tho he's asleep

And maybe that's enough for now, enough to reassure her, enough to make her feel calm and protected

Hannah Montana is fucked up because its entire POINT as a show is that children should be protected from fame and exploitation, but it stars a REAL little girl that's being exploited. Nearly every episode carries the looming threat of Miley being outed as Hannah and losing her peaceful teenage life to the ravages of fame. Her father in the show (played by her own father in real life) wisely protected her from the trauma of fame by making her wear a disguise and live a rather quiet, interview-free life. Meanwhile the REAL Billy Ray Cyrus sold his daughter to Disney Channel when she was 11 and forced her to read dialogue about how terrible it would be to face the public eye. Like... Jesus, dude. The fictional Robby Ray is 10x the father, and it's not even close. (It's also IMMENSELY funny that her dad doesn't use his real name in the show, while she does. Almost like he wanted a bit of a disconnect between his identity and his character. Something Miley didn't get.)

I think part of getting better is complete ego death. Like you’re not above setting a timer for 5 minutes and focusing on a task. You’re not above doing a very simple 3 minute workout to start. You’re not above reading for 10 minutes a day when you first get out of your reading slump, even if you used to read for hours. You’re not above starting slow and then building up to where you want to be/where you once were. What you are above is total inertia. Doing something really is better than doing nothing. Radically accept where you are, radically accept your limits, and go from there. Don’t let your ego get in the way.
