And in saying that about FF2, I'm very excited for FF3 all the same. One of my favourite games is Final Fantasy 5, which has this robust job system that you can switch on the fly and indefinitely grind up for every single one of your characters; FF1, FF2 and FF5 are all very "gamey" video games with serviceable stories.

Final Fantasy 1 kind of had a job system, in that you picked your party makeup at the start of the game and you could have a completely different party than another player, but FF3 is where the Final Fantasy series fully introduced Jobs as a gameplay mechanic. And as a big FF5 guy, I'm very excited to see where it all began.

I'm expecting it to be a lot less robust than FF5 of course, but as an evolution of the first two Final Fantasy games and as an early take on a concept that FF5 ended up doing really well, I'm really looking forward to seeing what Final Fantasy 3 does.

so here's all the stones I carved in ten weeks of a lapidary course

a rose quartz... I don't know what this shape is meant to be honestly, squished half pipe?

rhodonite cabochon

lab grown opal teardrop that I had set in a necklace, it's really hard to capture on camera but the colors move so gorgeously irl... though I feel like the shape itself came out slightly lopsided

sodalite heart... I feel like this would've looked nicer with a thicker piece to work with, idk it's just kinda thin and terrible

labradorite rectangle thing. I wish I had a photo of the original piece this came from because it was a huge ugly chunk with one tiny section of flash, which I then carved into this

same origin stone as the previous one, just a small section of purple flash. I guess I wasn't feeling well so I got pretty heavy on the grinder, and I nearly ground away the entire thing... so it's pretty thin now

once more, same origin. I like the stripes on this one. it's meant to be a small cab but I did it in like.. half an hour so it's very very poorly rounded out, oof it looks so rough
