happy fat dragon friday!!

omg Crystalspirit is one of the oldest dragons in my lair and let somehow i'd never actually drawn him..could have sworn i did but no! but here he finally is! he runs my lair's art gallery, curating an impressive collection of local art in Wind, and also works as a part time art teacher. though his 'classes' really just are letting the kids of Florabrisa mess around with art supplies, and he of course happily displays whatever they create!

Meditation with Max the Ancient Crystal Skull

Max is so cool! Besides being a geological anomaly, he is carved from 5 different quartz crystals and when you touch him you can feel the different crystals and also parts of the matrix that they formed in. One part of the matrix is on the left temporal region, extending up a bit to cover part of the crown of the head, the other part of the matrix is on the right mandibular region and part of the lower temporal region. His current owner, JoAnn Park, said some geologists who’ve studied this skull think that the matrix can act as an amplifier for the different quartz crystals. And, wow, did he have some wonderful and intense energy! I could feel him the moment I walked into the store; which usually has great energy from the giant crystals and sculptures within it, but this energy however felt more intense as if something seeped in power was within the walls. 

Time seemed to move weird in Max’s presence. It was as if only 5 minutes had passed in reality 30mins had. When I sat down in front of him, I asked if I could place some of my personal crystals near him so that they could be charged by his energy. JoAnn told me that was absolutely fine but nothing should be placed on him or in his eyes–I was offended people had placed things WITHIN him without his or her permission! I brought my bloodstone skull and 2 Tibetan Quartz points, and my Tektite (that has agreed to work with me in my healing ventures); and laid them next to him and in front of him. He really resonated with the Tibetan Quartz, there was an intense energy exchange between the 2 points and Max–they still feel amazingly charged. 

The first 15 to 20 minutes I just gazed at him (as I said time moved weird so what I thought was only a few minutes was almost the whole session with him). As I gazed at him I place a hand on either side of his head. The moment my hands touched him I felt his energy grab onto me. I could feel my hands glued to him (not in a bad way there was no draining of my energy or over exertion of his towards me), the light around him got brighter and at some points it seemed as if the whole crystal was changing shape, moulding and moving between my hands, the face both drifting out of view and slowly coming back into view. I didn’t even know 15+ minutes had passed until my eyes started to water from the strain of just staring transfixed. He withdrew some at this and it felt like I snapped back to myself mostly. I removed my crystals and put on my Tektite. 

Again, I placed my hands on either side of his head and closed my eyes. I felt like I was being drawn into him again but not as magnetic as before, it felt more like he held my hands to him and sent lots of energy into me. I got the sense from him that one of my purposes is to be a channel (not sure about that but I am good at channeling energy, not always to my benefit) and that he was both sending energy into me, infusing my body with it, and through me into the world around me. 

Next thing I knew my time was up and JoAnn was tapping me on the shoulder. She took a picture of me with him and then the time was up. It was as if no time had passed since I stepped into the room but 30 minutes had passed, which was disorienting. It was an amazing and intense experience and I’d love to meet with him again if he comes back this way.

so i have twin imp brothers Bristle and Whistle, named that because they both got thistle primaries despite their parents’ large range. on site their father is my dragon Crystalspirit, but that didn’t make any sense lore-wise, so instead i made Crystalspirit be Bristle and Whistle’s older brothers.

i only just recently realized.. Crystal almost rhymes with Bristle and Whistle. it wasn’t planned but it amuses me a lot safsd themed brother names
