dilemma

Showed up to the testing center 25 mins before my scheduled test. It was CLOSED. No notice, no anything. This was the only testing center that had a time to take the CSET. @PearsonVUE is unprofessional, and a horrible company. They don’t care about the people that use their services. This is not the first time I’ve had an issue with their testing sites. Last time I tried to take my CSET, their testing site was also a security guard training site and they were running a training during the testing time. Mind you, this is DURING coronavirus, yet there was NO SOCIAL DISTANCING, the only “barrier” I had was a small piece of plexiglass that was falling off. Besides all of that, the space was LOUD, due to the training happening (add another 20 or so people to this tiny office space), and the trainer is making HOMOPHOBIC comments that didn’t make any sense. I called @PearsonVUE and filed a complaint, but never heard back from them, cool, y’all don’t need to say anything anyways because you provide a service that I HAVE TO GET IN ORDER TO STAY EMPLOYED. Cut to this morning, once again, an unprofessional testing center, the only notice we had was a sign saying that it was closed for THREE WEEKS. When were we going to be notified @PearsonVUE ? You have no problem taking my $100 every time I need to take these exams, yet you seem to have a problem understanding professionalism, curtsey, and just general understanding. @CADeptEd the CSET is an outdated test and needs to go, it doesn’t test for anything other than my ability to recall. As an educator for the last FIVE YEARS I have paid thousands of dollars to jump through your hoops, and you continue to stand by. @CADeptEd you will continue to have a downward spiral of teacher retention because you DO NOT CARE ABOUT US AND OUR WELL-BEING. I don’t expect either institution to care or respond to this tweet, but know that I’m not alone, we educators are tired of these outdated practices and you continue to bury your head in the sand. Shame on you @PearsonVUE and @CADeptEd

CSETs tips and tricks
So I have gotten a few questions about helpful tips and tricks in passing the CSETs. I will say they are a little tricky and can be very detailed and specific. So I decided to dedicate a whole post on tips, tricks and some other resources you can use to pass your CSETs.
Number 1:
Get a book to help you study. I recommend the Barron CSET book. It is amazing and very detailed. It also has 2 full practice tests at the end with answers and the reasoning behind it. With the answers, they will provide you with where you can find the answers. Also, another really nice feature that I like about this book is that within each subset they will give you many mini quizzes for that subset with the correct answers and where you can find the answers.
**I will say this, I have many friends who got the Cliff Notes CSET book and there was a lot of incorrect information in it and they struggled to pass their CSETs. At the same time, I have heard people swear by the cliff notes book and passed on the first try**
Number 2:
Online I found practice tests that I think are from Pearson and are very helpful. I have come to find that these practice tests are fairly similar to the actual tests. I have found that the questions in the practice test are similar to the ones that you will be asked. For me, when it came time to take the actual test, I had seen similar versions of the questions I was asked and I could better answer the questions.

These are the major tips that I have at the moment, but feel free to ask me for help. Also if any of you out there have any other tips, tricks, or resources that you would like to share, message me and I will share them with your permission.
