Notes: This might be the shortest chapter I’ve written so far. Honestly, it’s been kinda hard writing Love Guidance since it isn’t getting as much love and notes that I wanted. Anyways, there’s not much to say besides if y’all got any questions, feel free to ask.
September 2nd, 2017
"Oh, hi Remy!"
Remy's head shot up so fast at the sound of his voice, nearly crushing his cup of coffee in his hand.
There, standing in the doorway, was Emile and god, did the sun shine ever so perfect on him. The rays complimented the chocolate curls of Emile's hair, almost making his hair look gold.
He was snapped out of his love crazed daze when Thomas tapped his shoulder, catching his attention. Emile was actually in the store now(and was actually decently close to Remy, making Remy's heart pound in his chest),his hand holding a leash that was connected to a very cute dog.
"Hey Emile, what's up?" Remy asked, trying to ignore the fact that his face was practically red. Emile giggled a little, a smile on his face.
"Oh nothing much. My kids and I just stopped here real quick to get Muffin some more food before we take him to the groomers," Emile answered, petting Muffin's head.
"Cool, cool," Remy said, "I'm guessing your kids went off to get the food while you stand here, talking to little old me with your cute pouche."
Emile laughed this time and Remy felt himself melt at the sound of his laugh. It was such an angelic noise that could make any man fall to their knees(and fall in love).
"Yeah, they are. They're also very excited to meet you,"
"Oh, they are?"
Emile nodded, blushing a little. Remy awkwardly smiled, rubbing the back of his neck nervously. Thomas glanced back and forth at the two adults, clearing seeing the anxious tension between them and decided to break the silence.
"Can I pet your dog?" Thomas asked, looking at Emile.
"Of course. But watch out, he's a licker," Emile replied. Thomas nodded and smiled, walking up to Muffin. He pet the top of Muffin's head and scratched behind his ears. Muffin happily barked and licked Thomas' face, making the teen laugh.
Both Remy and Emile shared their own laughs just as Patton and Elliott walked back over with two bags of dog food.
"Oh great. Here," Emile grabbed his wallet from his sweater pocket and handed it to Elliott, "My money's in there. You two go pay for it while I finish up my conversation," Emile said back.
"Got it," Elliott replied, taking their dad's wallet in their hand before walking over to the cash register with Patton.
"So," Emile started, "What do you have planned for the weekend?"
"Not much. Mostly just work and getting this handful ready for highschool," Remy answered as he motioned towards Thomas. The teen stuck his tongue out at his dad, blowing a raspberry. Emile giggled and god, Remy never felt more gay in his life.
He could feel the butterflies in his stomach as his heart started to beat faster. Is this what it felt like to be in love? Was Remy actually in love or was his brain messing with him again? He wasn't sure, but whatever it was, he loved it.
"Okaaay, Pops. We paid for everything and are ready to go," Elliott announced as they walked back over to Emile with Patton following behind.
"Well, that's my cue to leave. I'll see you around, Remy," Emile said, smiling at Remy.
"Yeah, I'll see you around too, Emile. Can't wait to see you again," Remy replied. Emile giggled a little, waving to Remy and Thomas as he, Patton, and Elliott walked out of the pet shop. The second Emile and his kids were out of sight, Remy set his coffee on the counter and sat on the ground, burying his face in his hands with a loud groan.
"You okay, Dad?" Thomas asked, crouching down next to Remy.
"Unsure," Remy looked up from his hands and looked at Thomas, "But I am sure that I'm in love."
"Oh, spill the beans, Dad. I wanna hear about your crush," Thomas said, sitting by his dad. Remy laughed at Thomas' response.
"First of all, no one says spill the beans anymore-,"
"Uncle Logan does,"
"That's because he isn't caught up in the times yet. And second of all, I do not have a crush. I am in love," Remy explained, trying not to laugh the whole time.
Thomas giggled, shaking his head a little. "What's the difference, Dad?" The teen asked, resting his arms on Remy's knee. Remy grabbed his coffee and took a drink of it, sighing a little. "Well, a crush is a silly little thing, something that doesn't really affect your life while being in love completely changes your point of view on life and the world and every time you see that special someone that makes you feel something you never felt before," Remy described, practically rambling and smiling a little.
"You seem to know a lot about being in love,"
"I've been in love a few times. I have gained experience from it all,"
Thomas couldn't help but laugh at his dad, leaning on Remy as his body shook from laughter. Remy started laughing as well, leaning back on the teen. The two sat on the floor of the pet shop for a while longer as their laughter died down, waiting for Damian to hurry up next door.
