So I've started rewatching Courage the Cowardly Dog and imagine Stan getting possessed by the evil exorcist mattress like Muriel did in that one episode and Ford and Courage having to fix it.
I decided to go re-watch the episode but It was totallyworth it so I could bring you this!!!
---------------------------------
The mattress, it turned out, was possessed, which reallyshouldn’t have come as such a shock given the delivery ‘boys’ that dropped itoff, but Ford had seen odder in his day and so he had shrugged it off and letthem go about their work of replacing Stan’s bed. Ford, for his part, went backto working in the basement knowing that Stan would come get him when it wastime for dinner.
Only Stan never came, instead their panicked little dogshowed up, running over to his feet and trying to drag him along upstairs. Fordwas getting used to the fact that, for ‘Courage’ as Stan had lovingly namedhim, this meant trouble.
And trouble it was. Ford was almost embarrassed by thescream that fell from his lips as he watched Stan’s head fall off beforeslamming the door to Stan’s bedroom. There were something you just didn’t wantto see.
Which was how he found himself here, standing at the side ofStan’s bed being laughed at. Ford had returned to the basement with the intentof figuring out some way to get rid of this creature from inside of hisbrother, but the loss of the journals made it a difficult process. Courage, forhis part, had vanished to, supposedly, check on Stan, only to come back a whilelater with some odd incantation that was supposed to get rid of the demon. Hesuspected that the dog had gotten it from that computer Fiddleford and giventhem which Ford was almost certain was possessed to.
He had read through it, raised an eyebrow, but figured hehad read less suprising incantations in his like. Kick ‘em to the dish pan ru ru ru, was hardly any worse than ain’t afraid of no ghost-us. He justhoped his trench coat counted as a ‘flowing outfit’
Ford read the incantation out loud, trying to ignore the tauntingthat falling from his brother’s lips, reminding himself that it wasn’t Stan. That much was obvious given theflow of bright red hair where his brothers white hair had once been.
The last words fell from Ford’s mouth and the room fellsilent for a moment before ‘Stan’ started to laugh. Ford could hear an ‘oh no’fall from Courage’s lips (which still freaked him out. He needed to figure outwhat was up with that dog) before thelaughter turned into a choked cry and a green mist flowed out of Stan’s mouth. If floated there for a moment before lunging at Ford.
“Oh no you don’t.” he said, quickly removing a small portablevacuum from inside his jacket and sucking up the creature. He was always shockedjust how affective something so simple was on creatures like this.
“You okay over there Stan?” he asked as he pocketed thatsmall vacuum again and watched as Courage jumped into his brother waiting arms.
“Okay!? Do you know how much I paid for this Mattress?!”
Ford couldn’t help but laugh at that and shake his head. “Well,if you give me a few days I’m sure I can fix it up good as new so you don’t getpossessed when sleeping on it. Until then I’m sure the couch will do won’t it?”He offered, smiling when Stan huffed and nodded in agreement.
All and all, not a bad find.
