🔥 On OCs

Send me a “ 🔥 “ for an unpopular opinion.

[[Someone declining to RP with your OC is not being unfair or “disrespectful” of OCs.

Someone asking questions about your OC to try to make a better fitting thread with their character is not unfair probing. (I’ve had someone get really mad when I asked simple questions, when I actually had no intention of declining the thread until they got pissy, lmao.)

There are good, wonderful OCs, and the mun will easily show how engaging they and their OC is, and there are bad, flat OCs, with muns that are a chore to talk to. Just as there are people who play their canons with grace and tact, and people who you wonder why they picked the character even though they clearly hate them and don’t understand them at all.

You want deep, engaging relationships between your OC and canon? build up to it. an OC who is aggressive, violent, and distrustful is going to be a lot of hard work, if you don’t already run the canon character off with the aggression. Stop whining you don’t have ships when your ship targets aren’t willing to be abused, etc.

Your OC has a difficult backstory? That’s weird, it doesn’t at all show in how you keep posting about how you only want domestic fluff. Your OC can’t be static, they too must change and adapt to stimuli. 

Not every OC needs their own, unique clan. Not every OC needs their own, unique kekke genkai. And if the first thing you tell me is how your OC can beat Itachi in a battle? Consider all my interest lost, this isn’t a dick measuring contest. 

There is so much untapped potential in OCs from different villages, and different eras of time, different occupations, and still living Konoha-clans and a lot of people don’t tap into that. 

I follow some really wonderful OCs on here, and the difference is obvious. ]]

Worst thing you’ve ever done to your muse?

     Oh, where to start. There’s been so many. There was the time he broke up with Shiro. THAT was painful. Or the time someone literally brought him Orihime’s head. That fucked him up so bad. Um, I once had this ship where he fell hard for another muse, and they couldn’t be together. I have an AU where both his parents were murdered and he sort of raised himself on the street?? 

But okay, seriously, I think the worst things to ever happen to him were all canon??? He’s been through some shit.

Who knows, it just seemed like something he should do. Although, something about this guy was throwing him off... What is it? Can’t put his finger on it...

Damn, he didn't think his little trip across time and space would cause any damage like this... Although, when he phrases it that way, it seems obvious. "Sh-should I put it back in the ground?"
