Behold my take on “it’s about the bones 👌” series by @sunderedstar featuring @spockandawe’s gorgeous typeset.

I wanted to play around with textures for this project, and I did my best to make it as much about the bones as possible :)

So, here is my gothic masterpiece ☠️

Dust jacket is printed on vellum, and what do we have under that lacy veil? Pretty much the coarsest off-white fabric I could find, with skull drawn in marker. I know the number is supposed to be IX but! What if it’s gonna be the volume number? Huh?

Then comes my pride and joy: endpapers with INVISIBLE SKELETONS. They are printed black on black and only show up at certain angles.

For textblock paper I cut up two rolls of cream craft paper by hand. My back nearly killed me, but it was so worth it for the texture: it’s very smooth on one side and has kind of eggshelly feel on the other.

Can’t wait to finally read the whole series so far (I knew I wanted to bind it from the first installment)!

ok but... Bruce takes Kon under his wing.

like before his powers come in, all he has is TTK. he's not invulnerable and he can't fly so Batman has very little trouble teaching him in the same way he taught all his kids , Robins, proteges. Kon gets a dark red and black suit since he's not a Robin , and he gives himself a name.

Cuckoo.

It feels appropriate, to take the name of a bird abandoned by its parents to be raised in another nest. Especially since he and Tim discovered his incredible mimicry abilities.

It's the story where Jason Todd rescues a black-haired and blue-eyed boy from a bad place in Gotham, accidentally brings him home, and keeps telling everyone that no, he didn't take a sidekick. He keeps almost getting heart attacks because the kid walks around like he thinks he is indestructible.

It's also the story of Jon Kent messing with Red Hood.

-tsuna is actually a pretty balanced mix of reborn and nana- he’s got reborn’s curls and body structure, and nana’s face and colouring; no one actually realises the body thing until he shoots up at 15

-reborn doesn’t sleep in tsuna’s room in canon- by the third week, nana’s ushere dhim into a guest room; by the second month, he’s in her room. its better for everyone.

-nana starts looking for solutions to the arcabaleno problem first out of all of them- whether its because she wishes reborn was big, sees them suffering, or doesnt want them to hit the time limit is anyone’s guess. she just pushes them to think outside the box

-tsunas dual flames from reborn and nana are the sole reason hes not as bad off as he could be- only his sky flames are locked down, leaving his sun flames blazing

-nana unlocks her flames once reborn shows up- shes not leaving her son to light himself on fire for the mob alone

-okay frankly nana sort of takes over the CEDEF because iemitsu clearly isnt competent enough to run it if hes willing to put a civilian in charge of the largest mafia family in south italy-reborn is at first completely terrified of nana because oh god he never sees one night stands he screwed the boss’ wife oh fuck what if she tells but coincidentally, the boss’ wife likes him more than the boss

-nana is not incompetent in this as obvious by the divergence but also bc fuck that and does odd jobs around town, meaning she has a lot of offhand skills like repairing silk garments and controlling a timber fire
