So I’m going to tell a secret to people who pay money to be let in cages to pet big cats. Like tigers and stuff. Total lifehack, way to do it safer and cheaper. Better for you and the animal.

Buy a giant stuffed animal of that animal and snuggle that instead.

You will have access to your new fuzzy friend at all hours and unlike a real animal it will not be stressed by your actions, or even need food or care beyond maybe a little spot cleaning. Instead of only being available for a short time for you to take an instgram photo and then never think of it again, the giant stuffed animal is available whenever you want it and will be around for years at the minimum. They can be hugged in ways pleasing to humans but not pleasing to animals! It’s a miracle!

Want to snuggle a cub? Get a smaller one!

This is Shere Khan. He stands a little over a foot tall and is perfectly positioned for snugging and cuddling against your shoulder. He is twenty years old, having been somehow retrieved from a claw machine at a Denny’s after four tries by a first grade me (I vote miracle). Unlike a real tiger, he will not bite, scratch, or otherwise harm you and does not suffer being away from his mother at too young an age or have the many other needs of a young cub. If you need to hug something, he and his stuffed brethren are a better choice for you, for your wallet, and very importantly for the actual tigers of the world.

I personally understand the love of snuggling and cuddling many of us have. I in fact have a very cuddly dog. But sometimes my urge to squeeze and snuggle beyond that which my dog would find comfortable, and that is where Shere Khan, the Pikachu pillow, and their fluffy cohorts come in. I understand being misled by an organization that is is okay to pet their cubs for whatever reason, I’ve been there too, but it has now become very, very clear that it is a bad thing for the cubs.

You want a cuddly widdle cub to snuggle? I am very certain that just about every zoo has a gift shop with stuffed animals that can accommodate the wish far better, and probably for less money anyway! So will most toy stores! You can just donate the savings directly to the animals, instead. JUST REMEMBER:

Big weekend for the youngsters! It was the 7 month olds' first show experience, and Sunshine's first long distance show. We traveled 6.5 hours to Midland, TX and they all handled it with flying colors 🥰

Jozi showed on Friday and received lovely compliments from the judge. Trixie showed on Sunday and despite being the more reserved, managed to really shine in the ring and I know her co-owner will have a great time with her as she matures and learns the game some more ❤️

Finally Little Sunshine was reserve to the major 2/3 days and absolutely rocked it! She has played the game a few times before now but she really seemed to click on this trip! I have high hopes for her in the coming show season as we ramp up in our region 🤩

Most importantly, they all handled the long driving days and new experiences like professionals and that is the best outcome I could have hoped for!
