Cambridge Platonist view [...] prioritized God’s goodness over his power, whereas the Puritans favoured the opposite position. Furthermore, the Cambridge Platonists connected power and goodness. Using noteworthy, gendered language, Cudworth contended that “there is a weakness and impotency in Evil, a masculine strength and vigour in all Goodness...the root of all Power, is Goodness” (126).
