sldkfjsldfk okay this is a very stupid and very silly WIP for this tag game
there comes a time when a certain former Templar is called to learn a new skill. this is all i have so far:
“So have you sung the chant yet?” says Rylen, hunkering down into the chair across from his desk. Cullen exhales a taut breath, staring through the missive. “What could you possibly mean by that?” “You know, worshipped at her altar?” says Rylen. It’s almost certainly some wretched manner of innuendo he hasn’t the time for. “I could do without the cute metaphors, Knight-Captain,” he answers. Rylen huffs a laugh. “You’re really going to make me say it.” Cullen raises a bilious eye. “In the interest of expediency, yes.” Rylen leans back, tucking his hands behind his head and flashes a delinquent grin. “Have you eaten her to the Void and back?” “Somehow I should have foreseen this.” “Well?” “It doesn’t concern you,” answers Cullen. Rylen’s expression is equal parts expectant and flabbergasted. “You’re going to though, right?” A ghost of a sigh leaves him. Decades of barracks chinwaggery have done little to sell the act. “Maker’s breath, no.” Rylen leans in with an air of urgency and lowers his voice. “Don’t you want to turn her into a puddle?” “I’m not above assigning you privy duty with the recruits, you know.” “Listen. I’ve got this cheeky little book in which Hessarian—” “Privy duty. With the recruits.” “Surely the recruits will ask why I’ve been assigned privy duty.” [The book materializes in his desk. Later Rose observes it heavily bookmarked with notes in the margin.] [Rose paces around the room, naked, reading excerpts he’d underlined out loud.] “Really, Rose, is this absolutely necessary?” “Oh I think so,” I say. “Call it a review before the final exam.” “For all my note-taking, I’m not sure there was much to learn from it. Contrary to Rylen’s insistence.” “Well, the basics are there. Mouth. Tongue. Va—” “Maker’s breath, you don’t need to say it out loud.”
