The end of an era
After reading my dear bloggers' posts, the summary would be one of great disappointment caused by the absolute theatricality of everything we've seen.
Nothing is organic; everything has been so forced that it has projected an insecure, unrestrained, immature, and utterly irresponsible image. That girl doesn't deserve what she has gone through and is going through.
Interestingly, this reminds me a lot of what happened with Hawaiigate, six years ago: the angry reactions, the comments, the way all of that spilled beyond the virtual pages of the fandom and forced Sam to write that diatribe. Of course, we're not in a global health crisis now, but Sam is once again behaving with a brazenness that reveals the recklessness of his actions. Backed by companions, both physical and corporate, who don't want to let go of their golden goose and with whom he has signed a pact that will have his milking it dry until there's nothing left to extract.
The legal troubles he's facing and the bad company he keeps will only make his downfall more evident. A sad end for an increasingly tarnished image.
The series finale didn't deserve this circus, and this umpteenth attempt to manipulate the fandom, regardless of which side you're on, has been so pathetic and absurd that the evidence has prevailed over the opposing factions. You don't play with people like that, and certainly not with their intelligence.
Of course, the die-hard defenders and the troll's entourage see it all as perfectly normal and are celebrating his achievements. Honestly, I don't know what to expect from now on, after the missed opportunity with Macbeth.
The series ends in a month, and most will move on to other shows with a less toxic fandom, or will get much less involved, given the outcome of this one. I don't wish him any ill will, of course; he needs to work on his future and consider what he's losing and what he's desperately clinging to. What surrounds him doesn't help, whether it's due to his own blind ego or purely commercial interests. I suppose Starz and everyone else involved have already written this off and don't care that this last month will see the disappearance of the free promotion they were getting from a fandom that remained devoted despite everything.
Anyway, I landed here because of the books and the series, and I'll continue with my routine, lamenting the loss of wonderful bloggers and GIF creators because of these absurd stories. And I'll keep shipping just because, because I feel like it.
Take care everyone, real life is more interesting than an actor who didn't know how to handle fame.
No one knew the original poster was a minor, and it’s not reasonable to assume someone’s age on a public platform—especially discussing an adult series, almost 90% of this fandom is adults and Late teens. Being a minor does not make someone immune to disagreement, and it can’t be used afterward to reframe normal criticism as harassment. I do agree that screenshotting the post without removing the name was wrong. That said, it’s hypocritical to single out Elriels for this behavior when Gwynriels, Elriels, and Eluciens all do the same thing—lurking in tags, reacting to takes, and posting about them. What is immature is attacking an entire group, including people who weren’t involved at all, using insults and moral posturing instead of addressing the specific situation directly and proportionately. But go the fuck off 💀
1. The original poster told you guys she was a minor in the comment section.
2. You guys STILL kept bulling and harassing her AFTER she told you all she was a minor.
3. Your Elriel friends are still posting about her and making fun of her.
4. If you really cared about bullying you would’ve asked your Elriel friends to stop bullying a minor, but I bet money you didn’t.
5. Screenshotting someone’s post (when that person didn’t even tag Elriel), sharing their username, and then posting it publicly so all their Elriel friends can dogpile on the original poster is wrong.
6. I tagged Elriel in my original post because I wanted all of you to see it. If you guys wanna keep acting like little immature bitches (even though your grown ass adults) instead of actually doing the right thing then that’s on you.
And you’re right—-I will pop off. It’s my page. You can fuck off 😘😘😘
🥦 Louis' poster for HDWGHWT Bologna, 9 April 2026 x x
look I know rachel said she "didn't mean" to write him as autistic in the books, but we know she still gave him those traits subconsciously. so the fandom's reaction to TLG shane not grasping ilya's feelings AFTER it was confirmed that he is, indeed autistic was still filled with indifference. people were still hating on him, refusing to understand why he couldn't read ilya's mind magically.
and its weird bc you see lots of ppl in the fandom love to use his autism as some "quirky" tag/token, but the same people want to have their cake and eat it too. they want to remove that tag when it doesn't feel quirky. they refuse to acknowledge his autism when it did play a part in that scene, it's wild bc I've even seen agressive comments saying stuff like "stop using his autism as an excuse" just when some shane fans bring this up. literally all we're asking is acknowledgement of his neurodivergence OUTSIDE of what you find palatable.
funny bc if ilya made a mistake then you just know ppl would be finding a nuanced, deep explanation for him in a way where he looks sympathetic. the courtesy isn't extended to shane.
I’ve been in the fandom (actively creating) for just a few days, and I’ve already been welcomed by the other side of the fandom and lectured that I shouldn’t support toxic ships and characters.
Guys, most of my favorite characters have killed someone. You’re crying over the wrong grave.
