Day 1: Chaos

Have you ever tried to grow a flower? It's not as easy as it looks. You can follow every guide, every rule, but still remain fruitless in your efforts. Conversely, the opposite can be true. Life can always find a way. Despite your attempts to snuff out it's light, to poison the earth, it will stubbornly remain.

My forest knows these truths well. Its canopy houses ancient secrets. The smallest blade of grass harbors potential for the unexpected. The creatures are feral and wild.

Grow your flowers, little Lamb. My forest will choke their roots. You can till the land, consume its fruits, but my domain is a sleeping beast. You are its prey. In your naivety, you will be consumed.

One who came before you attempted to bring order to my domain. The forest laughed at their arrogance. I may no longer be the god of these woods. My power has long since faded. But the chaos still reigns, unbridled, unwavering, eternal.

I had originally planned on doing a fic for each week. That, uh, didn't work out exactly. Mostly cause I'm drowning in wips rn and really don't want to add anymore to the list. So! Instead I'm doing some drabble... poem... thingies. I dunno just some unhinged rambling really. Still, hope you guys get a little entertainment out of it!

cultober was this month, and i wanted to do something a little sillier than other, longer prompt challenges normally allow. so i did a little poem type thing. YAY.
