malevolent x cultist simulator crossover
Thinking about the Aspirant again. truly one of the characters of all time. Slams down cognitohazards for breakfast and balances the insanity with the depression. Balances the depression with copious amounts of Opium. Balances the need for opium with a day job at a random firm. The random firm has a mean boss that makes you work unpaid overtime. Decides that is enough reason to either kill him or drive him insane via the aforementioned cognitohazards. Has to balance working hours with summoning eldritch monsters.
Makes a cult to worship a principle like a week after finding out they exist. Keeps breaking into vaults filled with monsters and curses to get treasures and books of questionable utility. Keeps summoning monsters no matter how many keep escaping to keep raiding vaults and random towns.
Is so universally beloathed by other Long that when they try for Namehood they get opposed by basically everyone but Ligiea. Is incapable of thinking past short-term consequences 99% of the time. Nukes a city, or eats a bunch of people, or sends a bunch of people into eternal comas. Because it's the quick and easy way into Namehood.
Truly one of the characters of all time.
‘My skin is peeling in patches, and beneath it I am darker, but my eyes are brighter.’
Here's a thought train I had a couple days ago:
There are 8 languages in Cultist Simulator, and they have the same colour-coding as the 9 (ish) principles.
Usually when uses the principles but drops one of them it's Secret Histories that gets dropped. However, Fucine is Secret Histories pink, meaning that one of the other principles was excluded.
So I want through the principles:
Knock: Vak
Secret Histories: Fucine
Heart: Phrygian
Grail: Latin
Forge: Deep Mandaic
Lantern: Sanskrit
Edge: Greek
Winter: ...
Moth: Aramaic
And at this point the answer is so obvious as to make me question how I didn't immediately realised it before. Of course, Winter has no language. The language of Winter is silence. Of course, it is not a language that you can "learn", as the others. There's nothing to learn.
There is obviously one book in the game which could be argued is written in the Winter language: STUMM!. Unlike other "foreign language" books, you do not need to translate STUMM! before reading it, but rather it is translated as you read it (the projector).
I think my favorite piece of cultsim trivia is "professional occultist has said they can't play it because it's too close to their actual job"
Perhaps the most well known edge dyad is tom and jerry
all cultists are canonically bipolar
Not romantic, not platonic, but a secret third thing (Edge dyad)
