Basic Concepts in Cultural Study

Hi everyone, in this post I'll try to talk a little bit about what I've learned from the 2 previous classes, besides my feelings and thoughts about all these I've learned. Now, focusing more on these contents I've learned, the topic which I reviewed this week is called "Basic Concepts in Cultural Study". Basically, what I've learned within this first topic are some of the most basic concepts needed in order to completely understand Arts and Literature. These basic concepts are mainly related to 2 basic categories which explain the way in which most artworks are done and created: Form and Content. Within the form category, we find those concepts that talk about the particular WAY in which things are done/created: What are these things, how were they made, which was the particular technique used to create these, the concept of medium, genre, shape, size, length, arrangement, etc. On the other hand we find the content category, where we find those concepts which refer to the particular content of most artworks: What is the particular subjects of the pice of art, what is about, what does it try to say, general meaning, objective/purpose, genre (related to topic, not to form), function, etc.

In very short words, this is what I've been learning during this week. Focusing more on my feelings and thoughts of all these stuff, I've really liked a lot all these stuff. Why? The reason of why I've been liking this class so much is because as I've already said, because of the fact that I'm really into Arts and Literature, I really think all these concepts and stuff I'm learning will help me a lot to understand in a more complete and objective way all the pieces of arts, and art and literature themselves: I'll truly understand the way in which most of artworks are created, their style, the way in which they have been structured (their structure), their objective, etc. I think I'll be way more likely to understand these aspects because this class will totally develop the way in which I see and understand basic arts, also developing my capacity to analyze and understand Arts & Literature

lol what if i made an indiegogo to "research" mexico -- i know it's literally like a joke to pose this as such, but i'm srsly considering it as a means to travel my parents pob.... and i mean, with "real" intentions of serious understanding.... i told a woman at the restaurant i wanted to travel all of mexico, to really make an attempt at learning lessons (scholar/lol), and she was all concerned for my safety... and i was like... literally dead. literally, srsly. -- i can't control myself sometimes..
