I #LOVE my @teamniklasedin #curling broom from @hardlinecurling 😍😍😍 My fellow #curlers think it’s pretty cool too - there was a lot of oohing and aahing and touching of my #curlingbroom before, during, and after #curlingleague Probably the one who liked my broom the most was Ryan, who was a good enough sport to let me take a picture of him while fondling my broom 😂 I’m trying to convince him to join #HardlineNation with me. His skip actually uses Hardline too 😉 Do it! 🥌💙💛🇸🇪🥌💙💛🇸🇪🥌💙💛🇸🇪 Do people name their brooms? Because I’m debating over what to name mine... I had friends in college who named their cars and a skater friend who named his bad ankle... Long before The Walking Dead, I named my first two orange tennis racquets Lucille 1 and Lucille 2. I actually don’t even remember anymore why I picked Lucille, maybe because of Lucy Liu? I didn’t name my racquets since then and I haven’t played tennis in like 10 years. 🥌💙💛🇸🇪🥌💙💛🇸🇪🥌💙💛🇸🇪 This reminds me of when I almost named Conan the LabraDane Viggo. My first instinct is to keep it simple and call it #NiklasEdin after @niklasedin but is that too boring and predictable? Part of me wants to call it Mahal, but only Filipinos would get it 🤔 Decisions, decisions... Oh and I need to get a broom head cover, too! I got to try out my new #curling #shoes and #curlingbroom tonight wHeeEee ❤️🥌 I’ll have another post in a bit about my @teamniklasedin broom, but let me just say, I LOVE being a part of #HardlineNation now. The @hardlinecurling #curlingshoes will definitely take a lot of getting used to. I’m so in love w/ my right shoe w/ the gripper disks and toe cap, but OMFG I felt like I was going to slip and die each time I took my gripper off my left shoe. The 1/4 inch #slider shoe is 1,000 faster than the sliders we step into at @curlsandiego I was definitely the loudest at the ice rink tonight. There were probably at least a dozen screams and yelps from me each time it was too slippery and I thought I’d fall and crack my head open. It’s a realistic phobia given that one of the guys on Sheet E fell tonight and was laid out flat on the ice for a long time. He was okay in the end, but I’m freaked out about something like that happening to me and getting a concussion, especially since the balance thing is proving very difficult for me. Worst game we’ve had so far 😭 We were shut out. It was 11-0 by the 6th end. But I loved using my new broom. In hindsight, I probably should’ve used one or the other, not both new pieces of equipment, especially since our #curlingstones were freshly sharpened. Apparently I’m still putting weight on the stone when I throw, even the opposing team’s skip noticed. We lost so badly that my skip actually spent time w/ me after the game helping correct my form, etc. It made a big difference on my throws. FINALLY got my #curlingbroom assembled wHee! 🥌💙💛🇸🇪 Thanks to @hardlinecurling for the excellent customer service. 👏👏👏 I’m excited to try this out on the ice tomorrow during #curling league. #NormanReedusTheDog gave it the sniff test. I’m not sure if he’s judging me for getting the @teamniklasedin broom instead of the @teamhasselborg one, or for being a slow poke at ordering the Team World one from #contcup2019 🤔 Good thing he didn’t bite it.
