Birthday Countdown Moodboard pt 3

Upon listening to Megan Thee Stallion's B.A.S., I quickly fell in love with the sound and went on a hunt for the remixed sample she used. Luckily, my mom knew right away that it was Out on a Limb by Teena Marie and I have been playing it nonstop for a couple of months now.

What does this have to do with anything you might be asking. Well, I'll tell you.

I head canon that out on a limb was one of Bruce's favorite songs growing up. I like to think Bruce thought it encapsulated all the pent-up, huge, passionate, varying emotions he was dealing with. Especially, once he hit puberty, which gave a whole new meaning to the song for him.

I like to imagine that the summer after he discovered the song, Alfred takes him to Smallville. It's nothing new, a trip Bruce makes every summer, for some fresh air and social interactions(Alfred said it would do him good) and he does like hanging out with Clark. Since Clark told Bruce of his secret origins they've spent the summers testing the limits of Clark's capabilities, combing through the small but lovingly cared for spacecraft that delivered Clark to his new home for clues to his Kryptonian roots. It's fun and if Clark gets him to hangout with his friends at the dinner in town, or Bruce decides to help take care of the horses while Clark and Pa Kent work in the barn then that's just how it is.

However, when Bruce gets to the farm he immediately notices something different with Clark. He's taller than before much taller, and he's more filled out too, his muscles (which were already quite good from farm work) have become even more defined, which is a little different. And even though Bruce doesn't like change he can understand this one, puberty happens to everyone, some more than others apparently. Except, Clark didn’t just get tall, he got hot as well, like super hot, and now Bruce is freaking out because what do you mean I have to spend the whole summer in close proximity to this Adonis, since when did I start thinking guys were hot and why does his smile do things to my heart, do I like men?

Clark for his part is quite happy to see him and has no clue of the inner turmoil he's causing Bruce, he just wants to hang out with his friend/crush like always.

Queue a whole four months of summer(you could make this feasible if Bruce gets out early because he's in a private school), where Bruce figures out he's Bi and he's in love with his best friend as he tries to awkwardly flirt with Clark and change their friend dynamics without really changing them because he hates change and wants things to stay the same even though they can't now that he knows what he wants. And all of this is happening to a summer playlist Bruce carefully curated around Out on a Limb by Teena Marie.

Years later when Bruce is being Brucie Wayne at the Iceberg Lounge for a JL undercover mission and B.A.S. comes on he un ironically loses himself in the feelings he had during that summer of pining and the feels he has now of not being good enough for Clark(despite dating for years at this point) and starts dancing and singing his heart out. The next morning B.A.S. becomes a part of the playlist he still listens to from that summer.

I really enjoyed The Drama with Robert P. and Zendaya. The twist and the aftermath went deeper than I expected.

Finished season 2 of Gen V and GENUINELY, the Boys/Gen V universe is one of the best and well written shows out there. From the casting to the writing to the storylines, I literally have no notes. Chefs. Kiss.
