How my Joel’s kiss you after a long time apart…
AFTERCARE!Joel doesn’t do big speeches or rehearsed apologies, he just acts like a man who almost lost something he can’t replace. He doesn’t kiss you right away when he sees you. He just stares for a second too long, checking you for injuries, jaw tight like he’s holding his breath. When he finally moves, it’s not gentle at first, it’s fast. One hand at your waist, the other at the back of your neck, pulling you in like he couldn’t survive another second of distance.
15 Minutes!Joel finds your mouth first, always. Even if you’re mid-sentence, mid-breath, mid-anything, his hand is already at your waist like muscle memory took over before thought did. His hand slides from your waist up your spine like he’s mapping where you still are, where you still fit against him. He exhales again, low and deep, and his voice is slick with amusement. “You’re trouble.”
Tears!Joel kiss starts a little rough, more pressure than precision. Not angry, just pent-up, like he’s been carrying too much silence in the time you’ve been apart and it all spills out at once. He exhales into it almost immediately and the second your mouth meets his, something in him finally unclenches. If you smile at him? He kisses you again immediately, like it short-circuits whatever restraint he was trying to keep.
Kitchen!Joel doesn’t kiss like a man who’s calm about it. He kisses like someone who’s been quietly missing air and finally found you again. The moment he’s close enough, his hand is already on your waist. He slows down without even realizing it. The urgency drains into something fuller, happier. When he breaks it, it’s barely a break at all, just enough to rest his forehead against yours again. His eyes stay closed for a second too long. Then, softly. “There you are.”
