Fic Update?

I swear I'm finishing my kazuha fic, I'm just going through some school stuff and finals is coming up in two weeks 😭

As a newer Tumblr user, I definitely have to say that this is a platform like no other. Since coming here I’ve learned a lot, I’ve read in-depth analyses about both specific and broad topics. I’ve gotten news that I would never hear about otherwise, and this is the only platform I use where people frequently cite their sources and provide proof and evidence.

That said, at least from what I’ve seen, there’s a lot of idealism here. And that’s not a bad thing. In fact, I love it, I think it’s a great thing. I love seeing people saying things like “hey, maybe this bad thing that we’ve normalized isn’t something we should keep doing”. It gives me hope. But I see a lot of people wishing for things that would be incredibly difficult, if not realistically impossible, to achieve in reality. I’ve seen posts about people saying essentials like housing, food, etc, should all be free. And I fully agree, it’s complete BS that things needed for living aren’t freely available. But if you stop and think about the logistics of it, I feel like it would be near-impossible to accomplish.

For example, in this case, how would the farmers earn money? The construction workers? The people that provide these essential services? You can’t say the government would, we’ve seen what’s happening with doctors and teachers in places like the USA. Can you guarantee the quality of the services if there’s no form of competition within the market? And yes, the government can step in and force prices lower, but then the companies would produce less.

And again, to be clear, I’m not disagreeing with anyone. Prices should be lower. Essential services and products should be free. Capitalism is inherently flawed. Companies shouldn’t be able to prevent the creation of alternative products that can challenge them. Billionaires who have more money than entire countries shouldn’t exist. But many people are aware of these things. Especially here on Tumblr it seems. And people can point all of these problems out all they want, but without any logical, reasonable, and feasible alternatives, it’s essentially just shouting into the void.

Feel free to debate me and disagree, I would love to be proven wrong honestly. And it’s entirely possible that I’m just stressed right now and venting some of that on an entirely different topic. It’s just. Sometimes it seems like people break things down to black and white, “this is bad, so we can’t do this,” but there’s a lot more intricacies than that.

I wonder why it is that whenever my emotions are heightened, I’m in shock, I’m angry, I’m flustered, or even really happy I start speaking in Japanese and not English. If I’m really flustered I start babbling in Japanese I even have to check this impulse if I’m in public. Even though I’m studying Japanese I’m definitely not fluent in Japanese so I have no idea why I’m like this.

I just wanna say that it's awesome that you have been making progress! Working out and taking classes is nothing to apologize about! And coming out to your parents takes guts! I know you're probably really stressed, and stress makes minor accomplishments seem like no accomplishments, but you're making progress. You're doing stuff. Good for you :)
