3/15 days of productivity — 09.06.2025

Due to my busy weekdays at the office, it’s becoming increasingly clear that my time to study will be limited to the weekends. Ran some errands in the morning, so I chose a local pub to study at in the afternoon. They have great secluded corners near the bar where I can focus.

{•} Read Chapter 1, “Mental Outfit of the Early Colonists”, of Edward Eggleston’s The Transit of Civilization: From England to America in the Seventeenth Century for my Early American Seminar session on Wednesday.

{•} Started reading two of the four research articles for Comparative History.

{•} Brainstormed an outline for a Call for Papers due next month.

Slow Monday.

All my energies will now be used to study for my protohistory exam. I have no idea how I'll manage to do everything I want to do, but I'll try to take things one day at the time. I definitely struggled to focus this afternoon, which is not great, so I'll have to figure out a way to make this work.

Productivity:

finished my frist reread of my protohistory notes

started reading and highlighting the first iron age article the professor added to the materials (I have about 9 pages left to read and then I will write down a few notes for this article before moving to the next, this will take so long, I have to figure out a quicker way to work on this additional materials)

set up my reading journal for the current month and updated it

wrote two book reviews and posted this one

practiced Irish on duolingo

Self care:

read first thing in the morning

didn't force myself to continue studying when I noticed I was struggling with staying focused
