“Nothing much,” Jason said, looking back at where the taxi had passed. “Do you always jaywalk in front of taxis?”
“There was a crosswalk, wasn’t there? It’s not jaywalking if you’re on the crosswalk.”
“That’s not-” Jason huffed. “The light had like ten seconds left on it.”
“Ten seconds we could be spending in my nice warm apartment with Kory and a triple cheese pizza,” Dick countered.
Jason considered that. “Touché.”
“That’s lovely,” Donna said with a genuine smile. “Are you going to any museums while you’re here in the city?”
“We were going to,” Dick cut in, “but it’s closed for repairs.”
“Oh, that’s disappointing,” Donna said. “Was it…?”
“Yep,” Dick said, knocking back the last of his iced coffee like a shot. “Damaged in the attack.”
“Aww, seriously?” Jason huffed, leaning back in his chair and suppressing a wince as his chest twinged with the movement. “Stupid demons.”
