You need peeled, diced potatoes, in a marinade of 3 tbsp olive oil, 1 tsp paprika sweet, 2 tsp curry British style and two chopped garlic cloves plus salt plus pepper, at 200 degrees Celsius (circulating air 180) for about 15 min. Oven at the end shortly under the grill.
Mushrooms (in a pan): Onions coarsely (I choosed red), 1 small garlic clove chop, 1 slices of carrot cut into the pan, clean oyster mushrooms and cut into strips, add, season with salt, pepper, 1 tbsp flour and dust, Add boiling water, stir, consistency if necessary with heat or water - ready!

Moo Goo Bento Friday...Maybe Stir-Friday?
Moo Goo Bento Friday…Maybe Stir-Friday?
Another nice day, which means I can cook. I have to say here, out loud, I long for the day when I have a kitchen where I can have the stove top on and a window open. Here I cannot, unless I want the flame blown out. With Barb starting a rotation on Monday I wanted to get a head start on items for her bento lunches and with the kids saying that they too want to take bentos to school I want them to…

Keely Auntie's Hurry Curry - Aloo Gobi
I make this easy potato recipe for friends, family, neighbors, and anyone who can't figure out how to cook the rest of their potatoes. Whenever I travel, I offer to make this for my hosts and I love to cook for co-workers. I guess it's a hobby; it helps me to unwind from the day. Plus, nearly losing my arms makes me appreciate everything we often take for granted. My grandmothers had gardens and I feel them with me whenever I cook. As for the curry, it takes me back to fun memories of laughing, dancing, web development, traveling, and making indie films. The spicy heat conjures up the intense pink sunsets of the Arizona desert. It's hard to describe unless you're felt them in person. Best shared with new friends, old lovers, and distant fantasies. 2 lbs Organic Potatoes 1 Cauliflower 1 Cup Peas Artichoke Olive Oil 5 Garlic Cloves 1 White Onion Turmeric Coriander Cumin Sea Salt Ginger Fenugreek Cayenne Cinnamon Cardamom Cloves Nutmeg 1 - Prep - Artichoke Preserves / Pickled artichokes Eat them so you can use the oil. My mom makes a flavorful salad with artichokes, pickled beets, and feta cheese. I add cayenne as soon as I bring them home so they soak in extra spice and garlic. Our family has a long tradition of making garlic pickles. It's fascinating to meet people who don't know how to cook but love to try new foods. Cooking teaches patience. It teaches respect for our elders who had no choice but to learn it as survival from persecution. My relatives and friends in other countries and I would speak through food to overcome the language barrier. Food is its own language. 2 - Fry chopped onions and minced garlic in artichoke oil. Pinch of salt, 4 Tbsp of your curry mix. If you use a stock pot, it's less to clean up. 3 - Potatoes (Aloo) - You can use one knife for everything. Recently, I tried a potato peeler. Once the skin was removed, I continued to scallop them down. I was so tempted to make potato chips but this recipe is healthier; less oil. Cooking at higher temperatures strips the vegetable nutrients. Anything smoked creates carcinogens in the food. Still tempting, I know! 4 - Add water, potatoes, chopped cauliflower, peas, extra curry. Bring water to a boil. Leave an inch of water to cover potatoes, similar to cooking rice. When it looks good enough to eat, it probably is. 5 - Call important people in your life and let them know you care. Thank you for teaching me how to cook and for sharing your lives with me. Happy Halloween!
Pepper steak, curry potatoes, goddess mac, and collards from the Lambsbread Vegan Cafe in Columbia, South Carolina. This gem of a cafe with Afro-Caribbean flare seems to be the only vegan establishment within 100 miles, but the food is on par with the best New York has to offer. If you're traveling through the South, make a stop at Lambsbread: you won't be disappointed.
