Philly cheesesteak from Lambsbread Vegan Cafe in Columbia. It wasn't really a cheesesteak but it was definitely awesome. They've got the vegan proteins down to a science at this place, and it was good to have some greens on such a heavy sandwich.

Pepper steak, curry potatoes, goddess mac, and collards from the Lambsbread Vegan Cafe in Columbia, South Carolina. This gem of a cafe with Afro-Caribbean flare seems to be the only vegan establishment within 100 miles, but the food is on par with the best New York has to offer. If you're traveling through the South, make a stop at Lambsbread: you won't be disappointed.
Drunken Cowgirl from Champs, the place of my gainful employment. Texas toast, potatoes, tofu scramble, chili, Daiya, and avocado. Straight-up vegan goodness.
Deep dish cornmeal pizza with Daiya and pineapple. I mixed cornmeal, wheat flour, and white flour for the crust. This monster pizza filled an entire casserole dish, and it almost put me down for the count. I've still got leftovers.
Bomber burger from Champs. Traditional vegan fare with a diner's personality. The secret is in the chipotle mayo.
Vegan parfait from Cafe Blossom. First parfait I'be had in years, and so dope. I didn't realize how much I missed it until I was presented with this little glass of happiness.
Half a jerk seitan sandwich and vegan potato salad from Brooklyn Standard, a vegan-friendly deli in Greenpoint. Classic vegan fare from a Brooklyn institution. If you've got a hankerin' for potato salad, this is your fix.
Vegan potato skins from Foodswings in Williamsburg. Another guilty pleasure for our comfort-food cravings, but sans suffering. Yes, they're open late, and yes, it's the perfect after-bar foray spot.
Chili fries from Foodswings on Grand and Havemeyer in Williamsburg! 5.50 for this massive portion of 100% vegan awesomeness! I also got a Southern fried drumstick with bleu cheese sauce. The drumsticks are 2.50 a piece but totally worth it. Foodswings is the original vegan diner in Brooklyn.
Beet burger with sweet potato fries and mango chutney sauce from BAD Burger on grand and berry. This is a brand new vegan-friendly diner in Williamsburg, and it's open 24/7! The beet burger was like nothing I've ever had, but it was very earthy. Next up: chili-cheeseburger!
Seitan frites au poivre at Cafe Blossom on 82 and Columbus. This is a Blossom standard and the reason to make a trip so far uptown. If you can afford the hefty 21$ entree price, treat yourself to this dope dish.
Southern fried Seitan sandwich at Cafe Blossom on Columbus and 82nd in Manhattan. Blossom is the best the vegan community has to offer, and Cafe Blossom is no exception. Even the sweet potato fries were beyond good.
Christmas dinner! 2 field roasts with cranberry sauce, stuffing, roasted potatoes and carrots, whole wheat dinner rolls, mushroom gravy, and a whole lotta wine. Happy holidays from Bushwick Ave, y'all.
More from Dunwell Doughnuts on the Montrose L stop. This was their Christmas Eve selection. Gingersnap (white), peppermint-vanilla (pink), and chocolate with peanuts (black). Vegan doughnut goodness at it's best.
Tofu scramble (topped with sriracha) and two flax seed/whole wheat pancakes. Bushwick avenue breakfast. I used one part ground flax seed and four parts whole wheat flour. The scramble is made with turmeric, nutritional yeast, and basic seasoning. Remember to freeze your tofu and let it thaw before you throw it in the pan.
Harvest Plate from Bliss on Bedford and N6th. That's grilled tofu, lentils, mixed veggies, steamed kale, vegan cornbread(!), and rice with a side of carrot ginger dressing. Mad good cornbread. The kale could stand a little seasoning (luckily, they have hot sauce), but overall, nice comprise between hearty and healthy.
Soy nog doughnuts at Dunwell in Bushwick. Tis the season for vegan doughnut goodness.
