one thing i really like about horror content is derealism. this is obviously why i like ashur's content so much bc, obviously, most of his content makes things not seem real, like using masks, making props out of paper, etc. but then theres always the fact that none of his content is set in the real world (except mark and friends). but another thing that spooks me is derealism AND hinting at reality at some points, which is why mark and friends get an exception bc billy tries to make it seem as though everything's alright and perfect in the vhs tapes, and there are times where he breaks character and drags mark back down to reality, then goes back to his original character. that spooks the shit out of me. like, be real. you cant tell me that saying its ok to get older then telling mark all the downsides to getting older then saying "its ok mark! you can stay w/ me!" isnt atleast the slightest bit terrifying. THIS INCLUDES TALKATIVE TEDDY. bc, although it seems to be set in the human world, the fact that the box and everything makes it look fake just unsettles me. and the fact that the concept is so real. its generally spooky.
