Swordtember day 28: Asymmetrical

At last, the forest ended. How much time has already passed since the start of this journey? Days? Months? The Swordbearer took a moment of rest on a cliff, eyeing a split and asymmetrical castle in the distance. Maybe the Swordbearer would find another feat there, or something to lift their spirit…

Spook Of The Day #117 • A cursed Scottish Castle’s secret room was accidentally opened (Fyvie Castle)

It started in 1920.

During renovation work, the skeleton of a woman was found behind a bedroom wall. She was laid to rest in the cemetry in a far more peaceful ceremony that her original must have been, but it seems she wasn’t too pleased with that.

Paranormal activity soon began to occur, with noises the unexplained occurrences taking place. Fearing he offended the spirit, he had the skeleton placed back there in that same bedroom wall.

The hauntings stopped.

Another rumour claims there is a hidden room in the castle - perhaps where the body was concealed - that must not be opened or you will awaken some disaster.

(Whatever that means.)

On top of this, there are two other curses associated with the location, one of which relates to a prophet Thomas The Rhymer and 3 mystical stones.

But the castle has been cursed, as the Swordbearer quickly discovered. A curse so powerful that every living thing was transformed into dust. Nothing was there anymore, no peril or feat, nothing to fill the Swordbearer’s heart. Only the king remained, now a corpse on his throne, his head fallen with his crown tarnished by time…
