In Japan, cars are taxed according to size. Toyota’s F110 concept was presented at the 22nd Tokyo Motor Show in 1977 as a proposal for a futuristic luxury car. It offered maximum interior space while keeping within the dimensions of a compact car for tax purposes. The asymmetrical two-volume design used one long sliding door on the driver’s side and a conventional door plus rear sliding door on the passenger side.
