Seeing things and characters in the show and knowing what will befall them while realizing how far away it still is…
Seeing them before so much is broken feels like coming home and looking through a photo album. I remember the pictures being taken, and they make me happy to see. But I also know the context is different now and there’s no going back to the moment of that picture.
What really drives this home for me is Annabeth’s dagger. When I saw it in episode 3, I realized it hadn’t been cursed yet. It’s still the dagger Luke gave her when he promised they were family. It’s not yet the bitter remains of a broken promise, a curse formed from the shards that could make nothing else.
I can’t watch the dagger and forget what it will be, but it is very nice to see what it is at the beginning.
How long has Veth been attuned to a cursed dagger? I remember when the hints began to get explicit but I wonder how long Sam just kept it quiet trying to get Veth killed in secret because he's a chaotic bastard
