I adore your designs for the Per Aspera npcs! Do you have any thoughts on Ione? I’d love to see her in your style!
Ahh! Thank you so much that's so kind!! Thank you for asking, I actually have SO many thoughts about Ione and I for once put them down and made a design sheet with them:
My main/biggest headcanon for her is that after Ione leaves Limbo and acquires her stealth look/rogue multiclass we see her with in 4.7 she has also cut her hair and has a very small braid now.
I also wanted her second design and off-screen character development to contrast Kyana's, and I figured hair was a good way to show that visually. So, while Kyana's hair gets longer throughout the seasons, Ione does the Identity Crisis chop before we see her again so her hair is about the same length as Kyana was in Season 1.
Colour wise for their Synobium issued outfits I wanted her palette and design to match. She dresses in greens in canon, so like Kyana I used a light, medium and dark shade as well as a secondary colour for the inside of her cape. With the light shade being the main colour used, medium shade for pants and dark shade for wraps and undershirt.
I also didn't want to give her exactly the same outfit, so she wears both her belt and cape pinned to the side. Her overshirt is longer while her arm wraps are smaller. She has small sleeves on her undershirt and is wearing a bodysuit under it all as well.
I tried to mirror Kyana's final colours in Ione's final look too. In Kyana's final look her outfit uses the dark shade the most, medium second and only a small amount of the light. So, while Ione mainly wears black, brown, and dark grey at the end she also still wears dark green, with small amounts of the medium and light shades.
Because her final look gets a bigger cloak, her first look gets a small cape.
She also gets freckles and a little tan once she spends some time not underground.
I made a Prior Zephrim design separately, and along with Ione I imagine some of the other monks had subtle hints to the Mindflayer nature of the monastery on their outfits that Kyana just happened to not have. So, for Ione I gave her dark green undershirt a twisty and spidery kind of pattern, like the Intellect Devourer legs.
And after I made this design sheet I had the urge to sketch her again, which turned into me drawing the whole B-Team :D
