Can’t sleep, created a notebook cover. It started with this Swedish word, smultromställe, meaning “a place of wild strawberries” 🍓, a special safe place of solace. I doodled the strawberry milk carton while watching a documentary, then added the “Strawberry Fields” lyrics...then started another documentary. I live on a mountain, so I started drawing a zentangle mountain range. I wanted to finish out with one more related quite, and I remembered Mary Magdalene soothing Jesus in Jesus Christ Superstar, telling him to stop worrying for one night and to let the world spin without him. The rich colors are all thanks to @prismacolor pencils. The white is thanks to my shiny @uniballco signo, the best white pen I have ever had. Finished my work based on the novel Circe, by @madeline.e.miller. In my Canson XL Mix Media sketchbook, inked with different mm of Tombow art pens and my Uniball Signi white pen (the best white pen ever). All color is Prismacolor pencils. These are all of the plants that Circe the witch, daughter of the sun, used in the novel. The quote from the novel— “the tonic of ordinary things”—was handlettered by me.
