Kingdoms of Amalur: A Review
Make sure to read either the video description or the blog post before watching. But since no one is watching (its 55 minutes, why would they lord!) here is my #review of #KingdomsofAmalur
There is a moment towards the end where I say the word “retarded” in regards to the game and I immediately realize I should not have. I apologize for that, and I am still working to unlearn a lot of bad vocab from growing up. I left it in the video to show that even the nicest people (as people claim I am) can make mistakes or say…

Who Should Make The MLB HOF by the "GEEKS"
Who Should Make The MLB HOF by the “GEEKS”
I asked all of our baseball writers to give me their picks for the MLB Hall of Fame. Two of them took the time to respond. And here are their very different ballots.
Jeff Bagwell:
Last year he received 71.7% of Hall of Fame votes. He made four All-Star appearances and has a .297 career batting average.
Tim Raines:
Raines was one of the most versatile players in history. He was the 1986 batting…

Transphobia doesn’t pay
I was listening to the radio this morning and Curt Shilling’s firing by ESPN came up. A caller made the comment that “liberals” are all about free speech when it affects them, but it’s a one-way street. Where are Shilling’s first amendment rights? Doesn’t he have the right to his opinions?
Of course, he does, ESPN also has the right not to pay him when he makes those views known publicly when they violate company policy. Curt Shilling still has every right to say horrible, awful, terrible, no-good, very bad things to his heart's content; ESPN has opted to stop paying him for it. No one has stepped on Shilling’s first amendment right; his audience maybe, because not as many people will pay attention now that Shilling is relegated to the dustbin of social commentary.
What Schilling and his defenders neglected to realize, in the age of social media, is once you are associated with a company no matter what you post on social media reflects on the company as well as on you. So his facebook & twitter posts even though from his ‘personal’ accounts still reflect on the Media company for whom he worked. He’d already been suspended once for inappropriate comments, why did he think he could get away with it this time? Was he intentionally provoking the controversy? Dennis Miller & Rush Limbaugh were both fired for less. Was he looking to get out of his contract? Is he that dumb of a jock, or ignorant and mean of a human being? Possibly all of these things or none of these things. Fortunately, we’ll never know because he’s out of the national spotlight for good.
Now, we just need to put Civics back into High Schools, so everyone knows the next time someone gets fired for making a stupid, hateful, bigoted remark it is not a violation of their first amendment right. The company is exercising its right not to have to pay for it. Not to mention we’re all better for it for not having to listen to yet one more blowhard tell us how treating someone as a human being is going to ruin us all. That’s another thing guys like Schilling never learned treat people the way you want to be treated.
Curt Schilling Fired by ESPN for Transphobic Posting
Curt Schilling Fired by ESPN for Transphobic Posting
Curt Shilling denied posting this image quickly deleting it but not before Out Sports published a screen capture of it.
The very next day, NY Times reports (that’s today April 20th 2016) ESPN fired him for it.
“ESPN is an inclusive company,” ESPN said in a statement. “Curt Schillinghas been advised that his conduct was unacceptable and his employment with ESPN has been terminated.”
For those of…
