Tales from Bed Bath and Beyond

It’s weird but I have met more celebrities working for Bed Bath in Chelsea than every con and event I’ve gone to in my life. I mean seriously. Just from my personal interactions alone not even including all the ones I just see around the store...

I don’t understand what’s so great about Bed Bath or frankly this Bed Bath but whatever.

The first Celebrity I ever met at Bed Bath happened my first day on a register. It was like 8:30 close to closing when I heard a “Darnell!” Shouted across the room. (This was back when Darnell was a Frontend Manager before becoming an LOD)

Of course I looked over at the sight and I see this guy hugging Darnell. I didn’t see his face at first. But I did hear the exchange of “How are you?” “Good” “Great” and then Darnell brought the man over to me.

Well it turned out to be Curtis James Jackson aka 50 Cent. I checked him out. (He bought a Vitamin Water) And that was it.

I found out after he left that he came into the store at least once a week. Apparently he always bought the same thing. I personally thought it was odd that he liked to hang out in a Bed Bath. I mean really? Bed Bath and Beyond? But okay.

I saw him very regularly. Usually about once a week which probably meant he came in more often. The new people all heard about him and where always dying to see him. You could tell which of us had worked there for a while because we had gotten used to his presence. None of us even blinked when he came in.

He stopped coming in a couple of years back. No idea why.
