You probably know the downsides of these dolls better than I do by now, but just for the sake of completeness: weak ankles that make posing unnecessarily difficult, particularly since this body is heavier than regular MTM. She also has slightly lower range of motion due to thicker limbs, with the thighs being the main offender. Not sure there is a good solution for that, but it does annoy me a bit that her fingers don’t reach the floor when she’s kneeling as flat as possible. Speaking of hands, the fact that they’re made of soft plastic and the wrist joint is so tight needs heating before you even think of removing them feels like a pretty dangerous combination.
I was also a bit surprised at the difference in color of the plastic parts, nothing too bad but the hard plastic joint parts are noticeably more pink than the rest. Also I don’t think I’ll ever get over how weird square knees and elbows look, but that’s more of a general problem with designing double joints.
Thanks to natalunasans I have a few pairs of shoes for curvy Barbie, but as a bonus these Simba Twilight Teenz shoes are also a decent fit. The Jenny shoes from last post too, but they’re a bit wide.
(It would be pretty funny if this post got flagged since technically this body has built-in underwear.)
