Laptop purchase advice please!!
I know absolutely nothing about computer mechanics or code and am extremely technologically impaired. That being said! I am so sick and tired of all this "smart assistant" "smart home" "alexa" bs. My chomebook that I've had for six years now just died and I bought it bc of the price but I hated that thing and I hate Google and Chrome stuff with all the spying and data mining. I am the person who will not use any type of social media besides tumblr bc I hate algorithms that much. I want a laptop that does the absolute bare minimum of running the internet and maybe a CD drive but apparently that's a lot to ask for now 😮💨 I don't even know what to search to find a laptop like this bc all the results I keep getting are sponsored or "how to set up your smart assistant!" "How to set up voice control!" "How to connect your appliances!" Which is the EXACT OPPOSITE of what I want. I have no technical skill to build my own laptop and every time I even try to learn the very basics of computer workings it just goes completely over my head. I would rather my personal computer not just be one giant advertisement meant to spy on me but that's getting rather hard to find I've heard...

I think this is what I want the final version to be. I knew when I picked it up, I wanted to go for an 80s sort of cyberpunk color (somewhat similar to what’s used in Kung Fury and Farcry 3 Blood Dragon), but I didn’t know for sure exactly what color I wanted. My favorite part is the fact that the orange rubber mounts on the fan pop and give a nice red color when in this light. Also, in case you were wondering, that is the Noctua NF-F12 Linus Tech Tips special edition fan that they sold about a year ago, which was honestly my first computer purchase that was solely driven by aesthetics, even though it is a nice fan. Wish you could still get the standard low RPM fans in black but w/e. Also, the only thing I don’t like about the whole thing is the fact that since my graphics card is the gtx 970 g1 gaming instead of the 980 g1, the illuminated logo isn’t rgb. But it could look worse.
